Yeah, and respect is earned. How can you honestly promise to respect someone you hardly know just because they take an interest in you?!

Is a child up for adoption supposed to promise love & respect to the potential father?
by discreetslave intuesday, october 4. offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance.rom.
12:1, the new english bible.. before someone who is alienated from god can become a member of gods family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to jehovah.
to understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family.

I love the symbolic nature of these covers. Also can't believe nobody else had posted them.

Any Runners Here?

Actually, I forgot, I did run 5k in 2009. I promised myself I'd do Race for Life and used it as an incentive to regain some fitness after my son was born.

Zoiks, those shoes look awesome. I've not seen them over here in the UK. I actually used to run the 1500 metres barefoot on the grass track in secondary school! I haven't done any running since I had to stop playing soccer 5 years ago - my knees are wrecked. Would like to get back into it if just to keep up with my son.

Do you tell people?
by MrFreeze inas an ex-jw do you tell people about your jw past?
how much detail do you go into when you tell non-jw's about the organization.
i usually only ever say anything if somebody asks about my religious affiliation or mentions jw's.

I'm usually too embarrassed by the stigma to tell anyone. I struggle to say the J word out loud, it's that bad. My ex husband found it hilarious and would often let it slip in front of new acquaintances. I actually mentioned it to a new friend recently in a Facebook message but could only use the acronym JW.

There's an artist by the name of Pete Fowler who does all the cover art for a band called Super Furry Animals (actor Rhys Ifans's old band before he became famous for acting). He has his own unique style which I can only describe as psychedelic, weenie anime.

Dumb ass family moved in next door with autistic kid JEHOOVER HELP!
by Witness 007 infirst off i have no problem with the kid......his mum though is a dumb sh#t country trash kinda gal, just moved in.
right now i'm in my bedroom being blasted by 80's music.
she put a stereo in her tin shed which is next to our bedrooms, so her autistic kid can play loud music...or should i say, same f#cking song over and over again.

Get some earplugs. Or pop in your own earbud headphones and play some 21st century music...Or better still, a spoken word book on empathy and political correctness, and thank Jehoover you have fully functional ears and aren't on the autistic spectrum yourself!
Mummatron - teacher to teens on the autistic spectrum, former LSA to a 4 year old autistic boy, and cousin to boy with AS.

New To Wine - Looking for Suggestions
by HintOfLime inusually, in the evenings i like to relax, watch a movie or a comple tv shows, and sip on some vodka.. lately, however, i've gotten into reading again - and vodka just isn't the right drink.
the characters in the books are often read of drinking this wine or that - which has given me a bit of a craving for a good red wine.
something relaxing, and easy enough that it doesn't get you buzzed after a few sips (inhibiting my ability to read, etc.).

If sweetness is more your criteria, then you might prefer a sweet or pale cream sherry to sip slowly. They make for a good nightcap.
We tend to drink a South African Cabernet-Shiraz blend as a table wine, and look out for special offers on Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Rioja for a nice evening drink.
Other than tasting them for myself, everything I learned about wine came from watching a movie called Sideways.
