  i'm a regular reader of baggagereclaim.co.uk.

  i find it helps me deal with many of the relationship-based hurts in my past, but this latest blog post, although it's written about romantic relationships, just made me think of my life as a jw and puts a lot of it in perspective!

  so i felt it was worth a share... thought it might help some lurkers, faders & those questionning the cult.. have highlighted the most relevant parts.

  Any Brits Striking or Rallying Today? (Nov 30th Public Sector Strike re: Pensions)

  although i'm a member of both the nasuwt & atl unions, i technically can't strike as i don't have a job at present, and although i have been invited by both unions to join in the demonstrations, i won't be rallying/protesting either as i have my 2 small children to look after.

  however i am fully behind the strikes.. here's some info for those of you who aren't uk based and would like an overview of the situation.... .

  i found this earlier today.

  i think it really puts it into perspective.... ten years ago, dj sammy & yanou released a version of heaven featuring the words of a 5 year old girl who lost her father in the 9/11 attacks.

  well this is the updated story of a girl from age five through today in her high school years.

  german city of bonn taxes prostitutes with meterthe prostitution meter is said to be the first of its kindthe german city of bonn has installed a meter to tax prostitutes for soliciting on its streets at a rate of six euros (5.30; $8.70) per night.. those who fail to pay face fines or even a ban, and 264 euros were found in the meter when it was first emptied, according to afp news agency.. tax has been levied on prostitutes elsewhere but bonn is the first city to use a meter, a spokeswoman said.. but a prostitutes' rights activist said the scheme amounted to double taxation.. prostitutes are expected to pay the flat rate, regardless of earnings.. the machine, which looks like an ordinary parking meter, has been installed in an industrial area near the city centre which favoured by prostitutes and their clients.. 'consummation areas'.

  isabelle klotz, a spokeswoman for the city, said they expected to get about 200,000 euros per year from the meter.. the "consummation areas" are wooden cubicles designed to screen cars"women who work in brothels also pay the tax but until now it had been difficult to get women on the street to pay," she added.. "thanks to this new method we will be able to tax them in all fairness with the others.".

  my children's paternal grandmother (g) and great grandmother's (gg) racist attitudes.

  i'm sorry but i really need to vent about this.... g was saying how she'd taken my son to the beach yesterday.

  she parked away from the seafront so had to walk through the fairground to get to the beach.

  Just found a memory box of priceless artifacts - HILARIOUSLY priceless JW artifacts that is!

  earlier this evening i opened a box of my belongings which i knew contained some old photographs as i'd like to get all my old photos scanned into a digital format.

  anyhoo, at the bottom of the box was a smaller box bearing some memories from my last year or two as a j-dub.
