I'm happy to do it and don't mind paying International postage either. Will PM you my details.
I'm a member of an online mum's club and we do Secret Santa using Elfster. It is so much fun!
last year i coordinated secret santa for jwn and am happy to do so again.
however i would like to get organised sooner rather than later since international postage means that santas need to be allocated by the end of november to ensure that presents can be despatched in good time for christmas.
if you wish to participate please let me know and indicate whether you are happy to post internationally or whether you would prefer someone in the same country.

my daughter(jw) recently inform me she has beta thalassemia,.
pass on from her mom, my ex.
she have two kids, both born around.
If she is certain it was only passed on from her mother and that she only has the 1 defective gene, then she has Beta Thalassemia Minor (Beta Thalassemia Major involves 2 defective genes inherited from both parents). I would imagine this is the case as she already has 2 children and was previously unaware she had the condition, so one would expect it to have been detected beforehand given the more severe nature of the Major condition. The Minor condition is a form of anaemia. There's a 1 in 4 chance the baby may have inherited it as she will be a carrier of the defective gene.
Don't worry yourself about it as the Minor condition is very manageable with iron supplements and blood fractions in the event of blood loss during labour. Also, age is less of an issue in childbirth these days than it was only as little as 20 years ago. Women who are now considered 'older' mothers (late 30's onwards) are monitored more closely. Your daughter will probably be given iron tablets and have her blood tested every 2-4 weeks.
i mean tv soaps.
i remember for a while they were a sign of a deeply unspirtual person ... all that time that could have been spent door to door instead!.
Yup. We had a family study about it after a WT article, or CO visit or summat (I forget which exactly) and my parents basically "reasoned" with my (pre-teen) sister and I that we should give up watching Neighbours.
on this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.
It's now been 12 years since I left. Since I started posting on this forum and joined a few other XJW groups, I no longer have disturbing nightmares about the GT/Armageddon. I am happy to be free.
I think many of us who've been free for years, when we do rant, are angry about the hold the bOrg still has over family members and how it affects our relationships with them. For what we now believe, we only have one life in the here and now and it's upsetting to see family waste precious years of what could be happy, fulfilling family relationships, by shunning or keeping us at arms length.
just wondering how many of us on here are musicians, what we play, and if we had witness bands and/or performed.
i have had quite a few funny moments of being in bands that wanted to be cool, but always had to nerf the edginess of any songs we played and watch the noise!
i played with different elders who loved to rock out, but when they played at a congregation party didn't even want to use overdrive of any kind!
I'm musical, but sadly not a musician. As a kid I had access to a few different instruments and could play some fairly well (mainly self-taught) but as all time and spare money went into going to meetings and out in field circus, my parents couldn't afford for me to have private lessons. It always annoyed me as I realised our 'situation' from a young age and didn't really ask for much. I'd love to be able to play the piano properly. I've sung in choirs and occasionally get up and sing in public at parties etc but that's it really.
what sort of feeling if any is wrapped up in your ring?
have you ever almost lost it?.
I sold mine for scrap value in Cash Converters when I was strapped for cash. After consulting a jeweller when I got divorced, I was informed that because the inside of the band had been engraved, it was essentially worthless in 2nd hand terms so was only ever going to have scrap value. It had the power to make me feel sick and bring back bad memories just by looking at it. I was glad to see it go.
so we are out treat or treating and i notice a dog very distressed howling and shaking with fear... so i try and approach her but she starts growling at me.
carrot rings the doorbell of the house that she is hiding on and the people have never seen her before... quite a few neighbours come out and we eventually win her round... she is terrified and very disorientated.... we scoure the streets looking for her owners but to no avail... all we can gather from her behaviour is that she was most likely thrown from a car... she has not long finished whelping a litter and is clearly distressed... we end up bringing her back for the night and has not left carrot alone... she has been lying on him, licking and kissing him.
all she has wanted is to be curled up on his lap.... obviously he is her saviour!
She's beautiful! Looks exactly like the Staffie my friend owned 10 years ago. We're so soppy with adopting animals that if we didn't already have one larger-than-life character of a terrier cross who doesn't like dogs who are bigger than him, then I'd make Daddatron drive to wherever you are to come pick her up. Is there a Dog's Trust near you, or a shelter that transfers to the Dog's Trust if they themselves can't rehome?
It would bother me a little if my parents were to discover me posting on here, more because I mention a lot of the JW baggage from growing up that we've all put behind us and moved on from, but I can't change the past and I'm entitled to an opinion and my own beliefs. Many of those opinions and beliefs will upset my JW family so that is their issue if they chose to visit this site and read my thoughts. However, from my recent career choices and that fact that I was cyber stalked by my ex-husband, I do have to be careful about my identity being 'out there' so I don't readily give out my name or photo. I don't live near my old cong and I've been out now for 12 years and DA'd, so they can't touch me. Ner!
the washington post has published the winning submissions to its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words.. 1. coffee, n. the person upon whom one coughs.. 2. flabbergasted, adj.
appalled by discovering how much weight one has gained.. 3. abdicate, v. to give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.. 4. esplanade, v. to attempt an explanation while drunk.. 5. willy-nilly, adj.
impotent.. 6. negligent, adj.
Sick - that particular alternative meaning winds me up. What's wrong with saying 'cool' or 'nice'? First time I heard it used in that context was about 5 years ago when I gave a CD as a gift to someone and that particular person unwrapped it and exclaimed "SIIIIICCCCKKKK!!!!".
tuesday, october 4. offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance.rom.
12:1, the new english bible.. before someone who is alienated from god can become a member of gods family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to jehovah.
to understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family.
Man oh man, that's a fair point but with a natural child you still earn their respect (or not) depending on their upbringing. Same goes for the analogy but using Jesus/Satan as the natural child I guess...
