Oh, for sure, man! We love that sort of shit here. Slurp it up with a spoon. Very transgressive and edgy, sorta like a crucifix in a jar of piss. You live dangerously, dude! Woo hoo! Speakin' truth to power!
Etc., & etc.
Asshole.

Are some better off not knowing the truth of the truth?
by EndofMysteries ini hate my situation.
a very close relative is remarried to a man who before becoming a jw was a shady character.
he has said if he wasn't a jw, he'd have guns and stuff, always worried about things.

Is a person better off knowing truth or believing a lie? Depends on what you think the proper end for a human being is, I suppose.
If you are a materialist, then comfortable lies make the most sense. If you are a revanchist like King Solomon then their own well-being isn't a factor in the question because you don't give a shit about that. If you think the proper end of a human being is truth, then you've answered the question. Individuals may decide against knowing, but that becomes a moral failing -- mitigated by all sorts of factors.
So, no. no one is better off not knowing the truth about the JWs.

Cofty, content-less statements are de rigueur these days. What, you're opposed to your natural essense flowering all over the place, or something?

Looks like Fernando agreeswith what I said. The whole, "spirituality: good, religion: bad," thing is a tired trope of small minds, of course. But there it is.

By What Authority?
by Orthodox1 inthe jws, catholics, mormons, and a handful of others say they are the "true church" or what jesus originally intended.
i know jws call themselves the "true christians".
by what authority - outside of the bible, since 41,000 denominations use the bible to back up their individual beliefs - can jws make this claim?

You are just a very strange fellow, aren't you? Being that full of rage for this long can't be very healthy, dude. Have you considered a hobby? Model rockets or something? Rock collecting? Stamps?

What cofty said. In the vernacular, spirituality seems to mean general, vague, feelings of grooviness with life, the universe, and everything. Religion, at least on this board, seems to mean people telling you what to do.
Oh well. I'm religious, just not spiritual.

Sad, really, when JWs invert the meaning of everything. Yet another reason why actual Christianity is sooooo much better than the near-atheism of the JWs. Actualy Christianity insists that all of us have a vocation -- some thing that we were made to do with out lives -- and that doing what God wants us to to means finding and living this vocation. If God has given you great athletic talent, be a great athlete; if he has given you a mind that finds math easy, develop that talent and use it; if you are happiest in prayer and service, be a religious, etc.
This is what it means to live as God desires: to be the man you were meant to be. The JW idea is quite nearly the opposite: deny your talents and interests and live a life that is a horrible fit for most people. Thus, as usual, JW-ism is anti-Christian and also anti-human. No surprise there, really.

Why wasn't the Issue of Universal Sovereignty raised amongst the angels long before Adam and Eve
by yadda yadda 2 inif there were millions of angels in existence long before adam and eve were created, how come god's sovereignty wasn't challenged in heaven long before the garden of eden?
why did this so-called issue only begin when adam and eve appeared?
how could there not be a single rebellious angel before the appearance of humans?

Perhpas this question is better phrased as another core teaching of the JWs that turns out, after a moment's reflection, to have no grounding in scripture, tradition, or logic. Why wasn't the issue of universal sovereignty raised prior to the Garden? Why, indeed!
