Well, as we know, the National Socialist plan of mass murder was really aimed at the anointed JWs. The Jews just got in the way.

Are the Jews meek?
by slimboyfat ini thought these were pretty surprising comments in the consolation magazine in 1946, just a few months after the full horrors of the holocaust emerged, under the heading "are the jews meek?":.
"there is no evidence in the scriptures that the jews as a people are meek.
on the contrary, jehovah's witnesses only find it stated in the bible that the jews are "stiff-necked and hard-hearted", but when they call at their homes with the message of god's kingdom they witness the same characteristics.

Evidence For Impending Change Re: "Loose Conduct" to "Brazen Conduct"
by DarioKehl inon another thread discussing possible changes to the nwt, the post refered to a 2nd-hand report of a co leaking possible changes to 5 verses where "loose conduct" would be replaced by "brazen conduct.
" although it is merely speculative at this point, i would like to remind those of you who did attend the 2012 dc this summer about some important evidence that supports this theory.
if the program is still available on jw.org, feel free to see this for yourselves.

Does anyody think the Wt thinks they should have more disfellowshippings? That they are short on enforcement mechanisms such that they need to procure a wider set of potential offenses?
Not buyin' it. They already DF whomever they want and it doesn't seem necessary to increase that rate.

tootired2care, I am referring to the Catholics and Orthodox. We don't put ourselves under the literalistic and blinkered reading of scripture. Look here: what you've got with the scriptures you quote is an unstated assumption: that the will of God involves letting someone else tell you what your vocation ought to be. It is a very old Christian insight that the will of God for each of us is to be the man we were meant to be -- this involves spiritual and personal development, not some sort of insistance that we not educate ourselves or that we not work at that thing we are best at.
The idea that scripture teaches us to eschew our talents -- to not be the artists, athletes, craftsmen, doctors, etc., we were built to be -- is not a Christian way of thinking. I think your mistake is to suppose that the JW thinking we have all been exposed to is at all related to Christianity. The JWs are liars, as you know. But you have to remember that they are liars all the way down. They haven't told you the truth about anything at all, not even about what Christianity is and is not.

Oh, for sure, man! We love that sort of shit here. Slurp it up with a spoon. Very transgressive and edgy, sorta like a crucifix in a jar of piss. You live dangerously, dude! Woo hoo! Speakin' truth to power!
Etc., & etc.
Asshole.

Are some better off not knowing the truth of the truth?
by EndofMysteries ini hate my situation.
a very close relative is remarried to a man who before becoming a jw was a shady character.
he has said if he wasn't a jw, he'd have guns and stuff, always worried about things.

Is a person better off knowing truth or believing a lie? Depends on what you think the proper end for a human being is, I suppose.
If you are a materialist, then comfortable lies make the most sense. If you are a revanchist like King Solomon then their own well-being isn't a factor in the question because you don't give a shit about that. If you think the proper end of a human being is truth, then you've answered the question. Individuals may decide against knowing, but that becomes a moral failing -- mitigated by all sorts of factors.
So, no. no one is better off not knowing the truth about the JWs.

Looks like Fernando agreeswith what I said. The whole, "spirituality: good, religion: bad," thing is a tired trope of small minds, of course. But there it is.

By What Authority?
by Orthodox1 inthe jws, catholics, mormons, and a handful of others say they are the "true church" or what jesus originally intended.
i know jws call themselves the "true christians".
by what authority - outside of the bible, since 41,000 denominations use the bible to back up their individual beliefs - can jws make this claim?
