  Brooklyn Assembly Hall

  i have been told that the brooklyn assembly hall located on flatbush avenue in brooklyn new york and otherwise known as the albemarle theatre, has been sold.. has anyone else heard this?

  can anyone here confirm this?.

  Does every verse of Isaiah apply to today?

  last night at the book study they spent an entire hour covering 11 verses in the book of isaiah.

  using pictures and scriptures from all over the bible every verse has a lesson for us today.

  is this really true or is it just talented writing?

  Are JWs loosing it?

  personally, i am more of a lurker than a poster, which i guess is because i am still very much on the fringes of the organization.

  although many here have become bitter due to their experiences in the truth, i am sure that many of us look back on some really great times we had.

  there was a time when there was a great feeling of optimism, new families (not just the odd individual here and there) were studying and coming along.

  Hi,

  I dont think the UN (hardly anyone actually knows about this), the sex scandals (lies spread by ahhhhemm apostates),

  has affected the congergations. If anything it is the change of "this generation", we are no longer living with a date

  in mind..like it or not we may not have had an actual date...but how many times did we read "think of it..we are living

  in the 80th year of this generation"....after the change things certainly became relaxed.....In my congergation the

  30 and unders are openly celebrating birthdays, going to office holiday parties, etc..etc... They see

  the older members without proper healthcare, retirement etc. They are not going to make the same mistake.

  Tao is nice- But Nobu is better

  skip everything in times square and hit the fashionistas of SoHo and NoHo

  no true New Yorker would be caught dead in times square on New Years eve

  Spa is over- For some nice house you could go to centro fly

  Try Flow with for a nice martini.......or even lot 61

  oh and some people are deeply offended by people who visit ground zero as a tourist attraction......just a heads up

  What Double Standards Do JW's Practice?

  one double standard that always got to me was how a body of elders would talk about how a brother needed to "qualify" for some privilege by being a good example for weekend service and yet a number of elders would hardly ever go out in field service at all!

  or how they would use 2 hours to literally gossip about everyone in the congregation, and then give a local needs talk on the need of not talking about the brothers and minding our own business.........what double standards got to you?
