  That's fine Frankie. Please, Please be sure to keep in mind that I'm totally against child abuse and see it as a black and white issue. Who is the we you speak of? And, again what are these subtle shades of gray as regards child abuse?

  Frankie, I'm sorry but I'll only ever see child abuse as black and white. Once somone is convicted of such a crime they are, as far as I'm concerned the lowest of the low. Again, what these subtle shades of gray you speak of as regards child abuse?

  Black and white thinking? That's fine with me. Child abuse is dispicable, it's wrong! And it's about as black and white as you get. What exactly should we work with? Lowering prison sentnces for child abusers? Showing them more sympathy? Try not to talk about it so much? Give me any label you see fit, but I will always see child abuse as "black and white" Right and wrong. What are these subtle shades of gray? Are you saying you agree with Dawking? That a teacher sitting a child on his knee and putting his hand down his shorts is one of these subtle shades of gray?

  Frankiespeaking - I think any talking down of such a vile crime is a terrible thing to do. As for victims feeling worse about about societies over reaction than the actual abuse it self. I'd beg to differ. I'm not anti Dawkins, but common, he should have really kept his opinion on this subject to himself.

  i would love to start a discussion (not a debate) with others that follow the gnostic writings from the nag hammadi library.

  i am a believer that pretty much every belief has some truths and fallacies.

  some say its a game of 'only taking what you like out of something'.....i say, its using discernment to find the 'pure nature' of what god would be and is.

  If the OP is correct then how would he/she explain the prophecies about Jesus' coming throughout the OT? And why would Jesus quote directly from the OT so many times?
