Thank you for the replies, it's good of you all. I've been thinking one sure way I could get rid of the JW's is to email a few of the elders a boat load of information off JWFacts.com & Also email the same information along with my address & the cong I attended to the London headquaters. I figure that would keep them away, but then that could also cause them to turn my mom against me.

Thanks again for all the replies. Just an update: The elder I studied with came round yesterday, I invited him in for a coffee and we had a chat about life in general, then! He offered me a watchtower, I can't remember which one, and he also offered me an awake about halloween. I said thanks but no thanks and explained if I wanted read on any given subject I'd research it my self on the internet. He then told me I was always welcome at the KH and told me that people still asked about me and sent their regards, I really can't believe all this shit after the email I sent. Anyway I told him that I still stand by the email I sent and nothing has changed in that regard, I also added that with the amount of things I've learnt about the watctower and it's history even if I wanted to go back to studying I wouldn't be able to, he promptly said "well I'm not discussing anything you may have learnt on the internet unless it's bible based, I'm only prepared to discuss whats in the bible" Which I thought was ironic.
He left and that was that, well until next time! I'm thinking of emailing him a link to combating cult mind control on amazon, is that a good idea?

Ahh..Teary! I gather from some of your other posts that defending the watchtower is a hobby of yours, never mind.

Teary, Tell that to Jimmy savile's Victims. They don't seem to have any problems convincing people and it only took one of them to come forward first then many others followed. Who know perhaps more victims of the same person/people will come forward, And it doesn't matter how long ago the abuse took place. It must take a lot of courage for someone to come forward after suffering such abuse. I wouldn't mind betting that a lot of people never find that courage. You seem to have this lady pinned as some sort of liar.

If Google is anything to go by he seems more of a baptist preacher than a "DR" OR a "Scholar".

I noticed just after the index pages under the heading 'Instructions' that they will stil be calling their bible the NWT in 2014, So that puts an end to rumours of a name change for the JW bible this year with the new release.

1914 not Christ's Return anymore?
by pacloc inlooking at the public dec 2013 watchtower under bible questions answered it looks like they are saying that the invisible return of christ is completely in the future.
i thought that they always said it started in 1914?
am i reading this wrong?.

How can the watchtower even say Jesus returned invisbly? Doesn't the bible say every eye will see him?

Odd experience today
by krejames inok just thought i'd share this odd experience that happened while i was responding to perfect1's thread "did a householder at the door ever cause you doubts?
" (apologies for the bad typing in that btw - was on my iphone and in my work-break).
was just relating the experience of a householder who caused me to question my beliefs.

What proof do we have? How did we pass the inspection in 1919?
by Quarterback inwith the new light, the governing body apparently passed the master's inspection due to our focus on preaching the kingdom at that time.
we were the only ones doing this according to the july wt re all those changes.. but, were we really doing this in 1918?
i thought it was only the colporteurs.
