  Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?

  there are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".

  and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.

  simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

  and he said to them: do not harass anybody or accuse anybody falsely, but be satisfied with your provisions.. this scripture boggled my mind even when i was a jw!

  why didn't jesus tell them to get out of the military if that is the christain way?

  at the 'big house' you go either one of two ways, company man or apostate.

  i think for many that went, it demystified the whole organization and you saw firsthand that there wasn't holy spirit influencing anything - only the muses of sheltered, out-of-touch old men and political bureaucrats.

  i work in the corporate world and i saw just as much if not more politics in bethel.

  it's becoming apparent that there are a zillion different names for a zillion different beliefs/non-beliefs out there.

  without pigeon-holing myself under a particular definition, there are a few of which i can pretty closely identify with for the time being.

  maybe agnostic, and then also appreciating the freethought pansies.

  Why do people pretend good things about Jesus ?

  ive had a few discussions both here and in real life and often find people excuse the ot with all its vile, violence and only concentrate on jesus because he was good.

  i try and assk them to show me an example and they of course they quickly tell us about the miracles, and thats fine.

  however when you ask them about slavery, violence, women and so on they make excuses.

  Buffet Christianity....Eat Up. Eat as much of the good stuff as you like without having to eat your spinich. Slavery, opressing women? Ill pass, sign me up for the hokey pokey Jesus loves me and dont worry about eating the solid stuff, just stick to the biblical dessert.

  In terms of slavery, the only people who didn't support it were abolitionists. Everyone free person benifited from the economic gains that slavery provided. So unless Jesus condemned slavery, he supported it.

  Taking a break from AJWRB due to lack of interest

  well, i've given it a year of my life and i hoped it would have taken off a bit stronger.

  i thought it was a good cause and still do.

  but i can't pay my bills and i can no longer justify spending time on the cause of saving lives with blood transfusions.
