  ) time that jws have to travel to kamloops british columbia, for their summer district convention.

  this dc used to be held at the pacific coliseum in vancouver b.c.for at least 20 years that i know of.. i think that 2003 was the last year that jws went to the pacific colisuem in vancouver b.c.

  My 1st post -- after being out for 10 years...

  so, i'm new to the site lurked around for a week or so now before signing up.

  i'll try to keep this first post short.

  just looking to make some connections with others that have been thru similar life experiences and help out anyone that feels empty and alone after leaving the "organization".

  Welcome Gonzo....it takes a long time to get to the point where you can look at the information that the WT tried to scare you away from. It took me almost 7 years from when i stoped going to meetings before I would really look at information that sites like this one provide. There are a lot of great people, many of whom have shared similar expierences. Let the healing begin/continue.

  Is this Stupid or is it Just me?

  check it out, i played with the band today (all brothers) at the hilton resort by the pool, nice gig but the mother of a 12 year old came up and asked us to sing happy b-day to him, wow very awkward the brother she approached said 'why don't you sing it to him" and shoved the microphone in her face, she refused about 4 or 5 times and was very frustrated we would not sing as this is a really common request of bands.

  she was really put on the spot, so she did it and we just stood there, thank god the crowd joined in singing.

  when it was over the brother turned to one of the band members and said we should remember to bring the b-day music on mp3 to play when this happens.

  Birthdays are always a stupid topic from the Dubs....they robbed a lot of us born in kids from a good time. Singing the song is really funny because it is a song from the 30s i think....It has no pagan conotation and has nothing to do with John the Baptist getting his head cut off.

  me ex elder, pioneer was very active but am trying to fade.

  one elder knows how i feel and i would not talk to anyone but him.

  is the us different today than it was in the 50's and 60's when tax rates were at their highest?

  a lot of people agree that raising taxes pulls money out of the economy and will hinder job creation.

  I am happy you are back mouthy.....I am so impressed with the conviction of a woman who by her posts is 84? That is awesome and very strengthening. The Ex-JWs need to remember we are a big tent. We have to encourage those of all backgrounds and help them leave. Although I am not a believer in a God, if someone can find comfort in a non-destructive religion I am happy for them. When people are coming out of the false TRUTH, many might be scared off by hardcore atheist thinking. Deprogramming is a process and everyone on the board, myself included, needs to remember what each step was like and treat people with the appropriate care.

  I am thankful you are backing Mouthy, because I think you fill and important place that is needed on a board like this. Keep up your witnessing and helping others leave.

  i met a gorgeous lady yesterday and she shows too much cleavage.

  i see her facebook page, all of her pictures has cleavage in them, i would not want to date her because she shows too much all the time.

  i am tempted to tell her to cover up her cleavage, she might not like me telling her that.

  I was sorry to see your other post about leaving....I was excited by the success you had with this post....I never brought someone in as a witness, but I am more motivated to help others out of the Dubs. Good luck with all of your witnessing, and in honor of you ill try to be nicer with my postings.

  Did you REALLY like the music played at meetings? Did people in your cong. seem to like them?

  i couldn't stand it.

  never heard any of it played live, which i imagine would be much better, but still... i find it annoying.

  for people who like that type of music, i guess it was good.
