puffsrule post on women's place in the society prompted me to share this website with you.
this group's name is fathers for life...and what a strange little club it is.. i hope i get this right...forever.freeshell.org/actions/jw200111.htm .
maybe someone can make it clickable.. in this article they slam the october and november 2001 for being "too pro-woman," and go on to give many examples, including the one about battered wives.. .
Oh gawd, sf... I thought the first part of that message was yours and now I'm not so sure. I'm still getting to know people here.
My apologies,

Oh boy! I'm only going to make a couple comments on this one.
"I have not yet seen the issues of the publications mentioned by Sean Kelly, but there is no doubt in my mind that he is reporting the truth about what he observed about the feminist subversion from within having spread to the Jehovah's Witnesses."
THAT my friend, is what is called Blind Faith - faith in man, not God.
As for JWs being family orientated: I have seen more families ripped to shreds because of their doctrines than any other religion. That is not family orientated.
While there are definitely wonderful people in the JWs, they answer to the leadership. And due to your obvious blind faith and generalizing, IMHO, you are seeing them through rose colored glasses. You are caught in an illusion.
I hope that one day your blinders are removed, and also that you are not crushed in the process.
Peace

now i can't get him in them.

I only ask my two girls to leave enough water for me now. Giving them baths years ago was sometimes a trial - yes, the soap in my eyes thing.
Now, they are teenagers and when either of them gets into the shower (which is daily for both), all I hear is the water and power bills going 'cha-ching!'
If they ended up repeating any of the cycles of abuse I've spent my life breaking. It would mean I'd failed them.
think about it.. you have to be interviewed (baptismal prep questions).
you have to enter a contract (the two baptismal questions).
everyone has a job description and job requirements (ministerial servants, elders, co, po, pioneer, publisher).
I love this thread. I have never thought of it all this way before, but as I read message after message I had to chuckle. And to think the people in there are expecting spirituality! You all spelled out perfectly why people end up frustrated and disillusioned.
thanks for the perspective - and the giggle of realization
my brothers daughter was rushed into hospital yesturday with suspected meningitis , which was confirmed today.. she is only 21/2 years old.. i don't know yet what type she has.. it is a good thing they have lots of help from their congregation , who are looking after their other children for them.. i don't know if blood transfusions are an issue with meningitis , apparently one type poisions the blood , this is the type they think shes got.
(((((((((sleepy and family))))))))
I'm not familiar with any link between blood transfusions and meningitis. I had the bacterial kind which at the time required being packed in ice for the fever, antibiotics and a spinal tap.
I've no doubt they'll have her on an IV with antibiotics. Big hugs and yes... Please keep us posted.
i wish they were of sex...... as i lay in bed last night, feeling like an alien was in my stomach, i thought of a few things.
since i seem to be posting fluff all the time, i decided to put my thoughts on to paper.

Good one Matty.
I don't like the comparison of the genders to begin with. Men and women obviously have different strengths and capabilities. Meanwhile, both sexes bleed the same color and feel pain.
I guess the bottom line of my point is - no comparisons, work together, and see the individual. Doh! But we're talking about the borg and others who buy into subjection/submission. If they agreed to see the humanity in another person, they'd have to look in the mirror, and that's out of the question for them.
And the abuse goes both ways. It isn't just the male gender who abuse. The result to both genders is low self esteem.

Puffsrule - The whole 'submissiveness' thing touches a sore spot with me too. It isn't because I'm a feminist or hate men, etc., but because it was used as an excuse to abuse - physically, sexually, emotionally. (they all have the same outcome-low self esteem)
IMHO humans are not capable of carrying out this 'idea' in this day and age without abusing it, and maybe humans were never capable of it. The women who accept it, are already suffering wounds to their self esteem. The men who promote it enjoy having the authority to 'lord it over' which again IMHO, is what subjection and submissiveness is about.
I know what it's like to be up all night with one's brain stuck in the 'on' position. Make sure you see a doctor if you aren't feeling well soon, or if your poor belly gets worse. (I've presently got the flu and under the weather too)
get well soon Puffs,

guess who just got engaged???
no date has been set yet, but the engagement will be short.
probably sometime this summer.
Congratulations! Now there's the kind of news I love hearing. I'm doing the 'dance of joy' in my heart for both of you.
Absotively Posilutely!
