ok...3 days ago, i found out that i was going to be a father!!
good new right?
well then she says that she is considering having an abortion...which i am totally against....so we discussed it...then she started to think that she might have the child....so she talked it over with her twin sister...and she told her to get the abortion...now she says she wants the abortion...now i am upset...not onlly does she want the abortion...but she wants me to pay for the entire thing...so not only am i going to be terminating a developing life...but i have to pay for it????
Sex is for procreation. NO birth control is 100% effective. If one doesn't want a baby in their life or can't handle one at the time - they shouldn't have sex, plain and bloody simple. Abortions should be for people in danger of losing their life.
I was 16 when I found out I was pregnant. Lots of people tried to get me to abort. Nope. I was deemed a 'risk' pregnancy but delivered a 10lb baby girl who was the biggest and healthiest in the nursery. I've never regretted my decision.
My 19yr old daughter was 7 weeks pregnant and wanted the baby. Of course there are doubts and questions in the beginning. Unfortuneatly the fetus was in her fallopian tube, and she nearly bled to death. THAT's a reason to abort. There are also pregnancies caused by rapes.
I get incredibly annoyed at people who deem themselves responsible to have sex, but abort babies because it will interfere with their life. Lack of responsibility and selfishness.
Abortion is not contraception. There are too many people walking around who do not understand the consequences of their actions. And to the poster who said that pregnancy is a 'side affect' of having sex - get real. Sex is fun and fulfilling - but copulation by nature is intended to make babies.

a day for world outcry!.
it's time to end the suffering!.
join me sept 1 and 2 (labor day weekend 2002).
you said "we are responsible for our condition"
NO. If there is one scripture in the bible that is hard core truth - it's that time and unforeseen occurance befall us all.
I am not responsible for being raised by a psycho father who abused me in every way.
I find opposites in your plea. I know you mean well. Yet, when you mention Jehovah and then astral plane - well, it screams confused at best. You want to change a cult by this prayer and meditation etc. Not gonna happen. Cults do not change into mainstream religions that offer real spirituality. Then you mention getting rid of your own demons. You are speaking of two different rituals. Getting rid of your demons (JW), would require a purging or healing ceremony. I hope you learn to drop Jehovah. It is the imaginary god of a cult, and prayers would be a waste of time.
I do admire you for your intentions and efforts. Yet you say if this one time does not work - then you will walk away.
And we are not being inactive. Silentlambs is shining the light on the JW cult. Now THAT's action.
My hope for you is that YOU find some sort of peace out of your plea.
meaning well,

as most of you already know, the jehovah's witnesses are covering an article in their august kingdom ministry to be discussed the weeks of 8/19 and 8/26 which details how they are to shun and avoid those who are no longer members of their organization, even immediate family members.. .
undoubtedly this article has been written to reinforce to the rank&file jehovah's witnesses the shunning policy, so as to tighten the ranks and prevent members from having the opportunity to learn the abundant contradictions and hypocrisies found within watchtower doctrine and practice from any who may have left.. this policy also serves to divide families and attempt to shame or abuse those whom have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, for whatever reason.. that much is obvious.
in recent days this topic has been discussed in detail in various threads.
I was shunned for a long time on the basis of a rumor - no reproof or reprimand. After Dfing, I was isolated for 10 years. No friends and the 'family' I thought I had - all rejected me. I had already suffered rejection at the hands of many of my own family for disclosing the abuse I went through and I also lost two Junior High (and on) friends due to the effects of it all.
This site is one of the biggest sunbeams in my life. It's hard to explain to a person who hasn't researched the dubs or been there what it's like.
I had my husband, three children, mother (sometimes) and that was it. Hubby was too busy with legal crap from his X and his addictions; you don't go crying to your children; and mom has the attitude of just get over it. Ten years is a long time.
To find something positive about my situation, I had plenty of time to work on myself; therapy for the abuse I went through; raised my kids - but damn it was lonely until I found this site.

if...... you had to choose just one to have for the rest of your life, which would it be?
affection or sex?
by affection here i mean snuggling, kissing, hand holding, all the little things.
IF...... you had to choose just ONE to have for the rest of your life, which would it be? Affection or sex? And why?
By affection here I mean snuggling, kissing, hand holding, all the little things.
Sex - self explanatory
I'll go first - duh - cos I'm starting this thread. I absolutely LOVE sex. BUT, I choose affection. Affection to me lasts a whole lot longer and is far more meaningful than the primal romp.
Mimilly (interested to see how this poll adds up )
ps: Simon, if you feel this should be in another section, please move it. I certainly am not starting this for lurid details in responses.
for those who wonder why on earth i am writing about this, mimilly had a thread on wednesday about being afraid at the dentist.
i contributed and got lots of warm fuzzy help.
i'm not the only one with an unreasonable fear of dental work.
Hi Mulan - I'm so glad your experience with the dentist went well. I'm still livin' after my root canal although the taste of the stuff they 'plugged' the tooth with nauseates me. I go in for a permanent filling this week.
Another poster said that regular check-ups prevent the deep cleaning etc. (glad for you Mulan cos mine was done the usual way- chisel, and was frozen via needle each time) Mine became so bad because I went through a period of severe depression. It's nice to say regular check-ups, but there are extenuating circumstances that cause putting off the visits. Another would be lack of money. Insurance only goes so far. Even here in Canada, with all the benefits etc. (and my hubby is an RN with an excellent plan), I had to pay a chunck for the root canal. I'm presently on assistance due to an arm injury. There isn't room to 'move'.
From now on... well, as of January when my insurance kicks in again - it's regular visits. What I went through this time will stay with me. Unfortuneately my kids are no longer covered as they are 18 and 20. THe youngest needs extensive work done and the oldest needs wisom teeth pulled.
Anyhow... Mulan - so glad your visit went well. I was thinking of you. (really, I was )

i wish i could make a big deal about it here but i don't post enough... anywho, remind me to kill the baker and to leave joseph in his cell.

Happy Birthday Preston! I'm posting kinda late - so I hope you had an excellent one

i just wanted to get some opinions on this matter from everyone.
support here in the states is pretty solid but very weak in europe.
i will make my prediction (ie you know) that we will be having a little sand party within a year.
I did say in my previous post that Saddam (and his family) have got to go. When Bush goes in this time, I hope he has more balls than his father - and COMPLETES the task. Frankly I cannot believe the world has allowed that monster to continue to breathe. When Desert Storm was over - I was completely pissed that they didn't take him out then.
My worries are about the soldiers and being stretched too thin. There's gonna be casualties because of this excuse for a lifeform in Iraq. No more of this - lob a smart bomb shit. Soldiers have to go in, and I always dread the death of ANY soldier.

Let's not forget that this man doesn't trust anyone in his own country. He doesn't show up for 'national' events - and alot of his own people would love to see him go. The Arabs want him gone as well - they just can't say so without causing major unrest in their own countries and my guess is that they want the americans to do it, but will publically speak against it.
Saddam set fire to all those oil wells on his way out of Kuwait which caused an effect in the weather world-wide. The man is a lunatic. They should have taken him out the first time.
My worry is the Bush administration is gearing up for this for their own selfish reasons aka the economy and finishing what Daddy Bush didn't complete. Bush didn't have a clue about foreign policy when he got into office, and he still doesn't. As for the war on terrorism, I don't believe invading Iraq has anything to do with it. And let's face it - Afganistan is still in quite a mess.
As for Saddam saying the inspectors can come in - it's the usual BS. The news is rampant with war plans and he's nervous.
I hate soldiers being sacificed for the sake of someone's ego and the economy. Saddam has to go - but I don't feel right about the timing on this one. I worry about this one.
