my sister in law has been shunned by the family since she da'd herself at the age of 18 and moved out of the house.
i always insisted that my wife keep in contact with her and made sure she knew she had a soft place to land,with us, should she need it.
even at the risk of it getting us in hot water with the pioneer,elder,bethelite family members there was no way we were going to let her disappear into the wild blue yonder on her own.
I am glad your sister-in-law went along ... it will help on her personal growth and destroy any stronghold still lingering ...
So nice of you to make sure she knew she had a place in your house. I tell all my nieces and nephews trapped in that Organization the same - they have a place in my house if they ever want to get away from that cult.

i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.
the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.
My niece was sexually abused from the time she was 5 until 13 by JWs ... please do it anonymously as someone else have suggested, and make sure to follow up ... keep and eye on those kids and make sure the proper authorities know about this. BE AN ADVOCATE FOR THE CHILDREN.

Advise Child Protection Services in your area if you are in the USA about this ... PLEASE do it for those children.

Tell all of that in a prayer to GOD (not the version of Jehovah as branded by JWs) to GOD creator of heavens and earth, the God of Abraham, Isaaic and Jacob and ask Jesus to come to you, to reveal himself to you HE IS the way to the Father not the Watchtower CORPORATION. I wish to all JWs leaving that CORPORATION to get to know God as the Heavenly Father. Pray, I did the same, I went to GOD and asked him and blamed him for a lot of stuff, I yelled at him, I demanded answers (this b/c of sexual abuse of my niece by circuit overseers), little by little he showed me his love, it is something you will not find in the bible, it is in the spirit with the Spirit, it is when you surrender ....

some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..

It takes certain kind of heart to be free from that org and continue to believe in God, Jesus, the Bible, etc... a heart that loves the TRUTH .. a heart that knows that a half-true, a version of the truth is actually a lie, you are also brave and know that you cannot allow yourself to be deceived. So glad your family is on board ... God is gathering people with hearts that love the truth (and I don't necessary mean biblical truth, but the principle of truth) from all over the globe, throughout the ages. That ORGANIZATION which has become like a "person" and calls itself God's channel for this and that has put itself in the place of Jesus.

Yes, they always get it wrong!!! Now that I am free to read any Christian literature I want, I can see how much of what JW's consider "new light" it is stuff that has been known, believed or preached by Christians for centuries.

this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).
I was raised JW and my first doubts were around the lack of real love, every emotion was scripted. I come from a Latin America country where you could find little children living in the streets and NO JW would help them, at least other groups will make coordinated efforts to feed them, clothe them, find orphanages, etc. JW would sAy they'd be destroyed in Armageddon, I used to pray God to save those children. When I came to USA I started sponsoring kids and my JW mom ridiculized me for that, she mocked me. One tenet of Christianity is helping others, the poor, the widow, the orphans, people in jail, the sick, the elderly,the hungry, etc. I make an effort to cover all these areas in my charity and most important praying for them. I am free TO LOVE my neighbor now. :)
