I was brought up in that CORPORATION since I was like 2 years old - the only thing for me is that since I was like 7-9 years old I started noticing the lack of love for the "neighbor", the hypocresy, the double standards, the Spirit that I perceived in the bible did not match the JWs really, hard to explain, maybe it was my sixth sense. I am a Christian now, and if the there were a prohibition agaisnt celebrating birthdays, or medical procedures like blood transfusion to safe lives in the bible, I wouldn't do it because I am trying to follow and obey the commands of Jesus, but it is not the case. So it is not about what I like, it is what the bible and Jesus really commands. The things you mentioned are not biblical. Abstain from blood, or keep away from blood also means do not MURDER, which is makes more sense. As far as taking John's beheading as a "command" not to celebrate birthdays that's SO wrong, it was prophesied that John had to die ... he knew it ... Jesus didn't even work closely with him or help him, when Jesus was told that John was put in prison, he went somewhere else to fulfill prophecy ...

... Eventually GOD would have pulled me out anyway ... I would have heard the voice of my Pastor, that small, still voice that says, this is the way you should go ... I was refined as by fire during my years in that Corporation, I consider my time there as my time in the wilderness, I reached the promised land now, I am in Christ.

after many years of visiting this site off and on since its inception i would finally like to throw in my two cents and opinions into the mix.. first of all, i am a born in, baptized at the tender age of 9. although i totally disagree with allowing someone at that age to get baptized, i will say that i was very imformed and i knew my dogma!

at the same time, though, i was aware of many inconsistancies with many of the beliefs and practices of the jw faith.

i was adopted by my grandparents since i was 2 months and they had been jws since 1950s.

Do you still believe in the bible? In God? In Jesus? If yes, one thing that I learned to cope with the anger at the WT (which is like a ghost) was to ask Jesus to be my Prince of Peace on any given day when I felt SO angry, taken, used, violated, stupid, dissapointed, and many other negative emotions.

By experience I can tell you that with time you will heal, but make sure you take care of your emotional being. Read about, talk to experts, develop different thinking patters, skills, etc. Love yourself and don't be so hard on you too. We didn't know better and truly our parents either or still don't. Don't get mad, get everythig! Get all the rights God Creator has given you as a human being, the right to be happy, the right to worship HIM not a CORPORATION, the right to get an education, the right to walk with him in Spirit, the right to know that you are LOVED just like you are, the right to experience every season of your life in its due season, the right to develop and use your natural talents, the right to be free, the right to test the spirits and see for yourself if what you were taught is the Spirit of Christ.

Don't look back, press forward. What's done is done. If your family don't get it, it is THEIR LOSS. Take ownership of your adulthood and tell them: "Vaya con Dios"

i just spoke to a witness friend (has been a witness 25+ years), who said that the elders in her congregation told her that witnesses had better be prepared to begin going door to door, not to announce "good news", but to denounce people who refuse to accept "the trvth".

has anyone else heard about this?

i thought it was a joke at first, but she said no, that's where the elders told her things were headed.

The Book of Revelations says that an angel or angels preached the gospel of the kingdom one last time. Funny that this is after the 144,000 are already saved in Heaven.

JW ALWAYS attribute all prophecies to them. The only thing they would ever want with a "last call" is to increase their sales. I wonder HOW MUCH is going to cost the public to hear that last call.

can anyone provide links or information on this.. as jws we passed along the doritos and vinegar without imbibing.. i have been lead to belive this is a copy of the occult 'mock/rejaect the christ ceremony.. 1. i have no evidence such a ceremony exists beyond being told.

thus i would like to see evidence.. 2. would it not have been until judge boozerford decided to create two classes that the idea of passing the cutlery would have been devised?.

3. if boozerford is responsible would he have been sober enough to copy a mock/reject ceremony?

If You Heard An Acquaintance Was Considering A Study With JWs Would You Get Involved At All?

YES!

I would act happy for her and tell her about the exciting and modern ways to get to know the Watchtower Organization better through Internet research.

Once, I acted like "cool" with my neighbor when she mentioned she was "studying the bible" with JWs. I asked, which book of the bible are you guys covering so far? She mentioned she was not studying the bible per se but a book, so then I acted dissapointed, like, oh so you're not "studying THE bible" and mentioned how those books have the questions and the answer already and to be sure to read and study THE bible. I left it at that.

On another occassion I told another person about the child sexual abuse coverage going on there because she has children but since she has family that are JWs she didn't want to believe me. She is still studying and going to the meetings. I pray God to keep her children safe, because for some reason I felt an URGENT need to share the child sexual abuse with her, but I mean I even went to her house with another excuse but my purpose was to initiate the talk about the sexual abuse.

...about funny revenge plots on the jw's?.

- dressing up properly, going to a random memorial where the people don't know you, and "partaking of the emblems".

- going to a random kingdom hall where the people don't know you, give a couple "real" jw comments to earn trust / cred., give a third comment that contains the "f" curse in it, then act like nothing happened.

in watching the recent protests in this country in regards to the issue of illegal/legal immigration, one gets to read the many stories of success from many of these immigrants that came over from south of the border.

keeping politics aside, one can't but be astounded by the will and desire that many of them have to "make it" here in the usa.

many of them have realized the "american dream".

I was reading throught the other posts ... funny that I also help my parents monetarily, they have nothing ... my father went back to El Salvador and I send him money every month ... I only started helping him after becoming a Christian, before it was too hard for me to help him because it was my way to seek revenge from the unhappiness and all pain inflicted while being raised as a JW ... as a Christian now, I do it happily. My mom is here in the USA, owes me thousands, but as a Christian I now see that my mom could never owe me any money, no matter what she is my mom and I don't expect her to pay me anything back. All for the glory of God.

Remember people, we are supposed to lend not to borrow ... so who is your daddy? Jesus or the WT Corporation

Same with my family here ... we left El Salvador looking for a "BETTER LIFE*" in the USA just to continue the same JW BS ... the only help any newly arrived "sister" gets from another "already adapted sister" here is referrals or leads to CLEAN THE BATHROOMS OF RICH WHITE PEOPLE - no offense intended by saying "white" okay, but you know what I mean." NO KIDDING people, Generations of maids in the JW are very common, Grandma maid, mama maid, daughter maid. Very few have houses and the ones that do are considered "materialistics" ... and people talks behind their backs wondering why in the world they are buying a house when it will be destroyed in armagedon the next day." No savings. NOTHING.

Thanks be to GOD and my Lord Jesus that my heart was never in that religion, they got my brain somewhat brainwashed but the Spirit of Christ was stronger and now I am completely free and my future generations will not be slaves to the WT CORPORATION.
