Regardless of whatever to the contrary ... I like Deepak Chopra ... I read his stuff while I was out there with no "Watchtower's god" (the only version of god I knew for 40 years) and kept me believing in a Higher Power and how awesome this creative force is ... I didn't know then but it fed my spirituality, and not just him ...other great thinkers too ..........Acts 10:34-35

Hey and if they make money out of their philosophies, what stop us from doing the same ... got a great idea that can make the difference in the lives of people??? Write a book, start a blog, have a TV show and reach millions ...

When I was suffering from depression whatever $10 or less I paid for a book of Deepak resulted in PRICELESS benefits to me and when I started to read the bible by myself again I found many of his concepts there ...

Anyway, perhaps my point is ... Why don't we all (humans) get along? Why don't we submit to LOVE ...

How do you go on when married to a JW who doesn't want to be a JW

i've posted on here a few times under the screen name of sahara but had to change it, long story... anyway i've posted some of my story being married to a jw for twenty years with four children, none of whom are jw's or are studying to be one.

i've stated on my other posts that i've done lots of research on jw's and watchtower history, i don't think there is anything about the history and tactics of jws that i haven't personally come across or studied, though i could be wrong.

people who are not intimately familiar with jw beliefs and practices seem to view them as strange simply because they don't celebrate holidays or salute the flag etc, but those of us who are more familiar with them know that there is far more than meets the eyes of casual observers.

JWs mentality is that "as long as you attend meetings or preach door to door" you are okay ... they still under the LAW/WORKS salvation mentality. I have a JW niece, very young - 22, she is active, model JW yet she is dating a wordly MARRIED MAN, having sex with, taking the morning after pill, etc. etc. - yet in her and her parents eyes, me and my children followers of JesusChrist, thus Christians, are the "incorregibly wicked" heading to destruction ... LOL!!!!

How do I know about her life you asked? Well, my other niece is her "confidant" and let me see their conversation on the chat room.

I feel sad for her and her choices, but I decided not to interfere in her life, not b/c she is a JW but because she is an adult now and I know that these people are blind and cannot tell the difference between their cult and reality, plus the elders are going to mess her up big time and my sister (her mom) will be heart broken ... so the best thing I do is pray for her and ask my niece to listen to her but try to speak some sense in her ...

New KH and lies to the council!

just before i stepped off being an elder the local congo were buying a piece of land with a building on it to convert (no pun intended), into a kh.. .

one of the things as i understand it was that they were going to have a flat for the co in situ but report to the local authorities that it ws just a janitors flat.

apparently if the council knew it was for the co it would be unacceptable for some reason.

If the Country, City or County you live in require that its Citizens report this kind of issues - LIES -, then by all means Paolo, by law you have to report this stuff ... remember ... to Caesar what belongs to Caesar ...

The one that really floored me is that JESUS is not the Mediator for all humanity, that the 144,000 or FDS is ... I was raised in that organization and I always assumed that JESUS was my Mediator not a bunch of imperfect men here on earth ...

in a recent talk that i heard, a brother tried to comfort those whose family members have left jehovah's witnesses.

he did so by saying that only "incorrigibly wicked" people will be destroyed at armageddon.

i found his line of reasoning refreshing, especially in comparison with the usual fear-mongering in wt publications.

Then comes up another question ... WHO and WHAT chooses/defines/decides what's an "incorrigibly wicked" people ...

I may judge someone "incorrigible wicked" yet another person may find him/her a "loving" person.

When you judge people under the LAW (like Watchtower and JWs) we are all "incorrigible wicked" as we will never be able to obtain perfection to be acceptable in front of God ...when you are under GRACE ... you are "lovable" ... even if your transgressions are red as blood, God through GRACE sees all White as snow ...

Law demands perfect obedience

GRACE supplies perfect obedience, it is given to us through my LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS

My niece, who was sexually abused by 3 different JWs is considered "incorrigibly wicked" by Watchtower's standards as she doesn't want to go back to being a JW (she knows the truth about the truth now) - they'd rather see her commiting suicide than show mercy to her and let her choose JESUS as her Lord and Saviour, her MEDIATOR not any bunch on old men in New York some now we know haven been homosexuals.

"I found his line of reasoning refreshing" - Sorry ... in the Christian context, the bible is clear as to whom will be saved ... and it has nothing to do with "works/law" - it has to do with who you believe in ...

if she were my daughter, and kris humphries said to her what he said to ms. kim, when she voiced her concerns (again) about not wanting to move to minnesota (which she did before getting married and he "pretended" to accept), i might tell her he's the wrong guy/man, too.

no, i don't believe in divorce "just because,"... and don't know that i would tell my daughter to divorce him (she made her bed, so to say), but.... what did he say?

I saw how that man disrespect her on national TV ... HE EVEN BURPED ON HER FACE ... ewwwww ... on the other hand she didn't tell her she was married before ... someone up there is right, they deserve each other ...

let me explain a little about what i do each day...... i work for a company that arranges trusts in the cook islands, turks & caicos, panama, etc.

i know that blondie is against what i am about to say, but i do not just believe that the wts have a variety of trusts in various jurisdictions around the world......i am absolutely positive they do.. .

i personally look after 14 trusts.

I believe it. I used to work as a Legal Secretary for a law firm specialized in international law ... most of the dealings were to hide money in "trusts" in offshore banks for certain mexican and south american officials and rich people. It is unbelievable legal!

somewhere thats not trinitarian but is christian and that is very bible based, any suggestions?

ive been looking into quakerism and it looks pretty good so far..

What really ended the book study in private homes?

it's been over 3 years since the book study in private homes was discontinued and some jws are still scratching their heads over it.

although a letter was read to all congregations explaining that "book study night" would now be "family worship night", there was still much speculation among jws as to the real reason behind this decision (the great tribulation was about to start, jehovah was simplifying the lives of jws, to lessen the burden of poor jws who had no money for gas, etc.)...

but as we all know, decisions like these from the gb invariably have some ulterior motive behind it... and discussion boards such as this one usually finds a way to dig up the truth for all to see... but after reading several threads on this subject, i'm really not sure we've uncovered all the facts yet.... so i have to ask... what do you believe really ended the book study in private homes?
