  You know, I think I need to research this a little bit more and bring back some information for you about disfellowshiping. I know it is all scriptural and the Bible says to stay away from the unclean things, and people can certainly be unclean and give you bad association to spoil your useful habits. I can't imagine not having such an important tool to control things inside the organization.

  Disfellowshiped ones can come into our Kingdong halls but they are not allowed to participate in the meetings or to be talked to. We don't want to be influenced by them in any way.

  Jesus wasn't unconditional in his love, remember what he said to Judas? ...I'm paraphrasing here but it goes something along the lines..."Yo, is a bad sucker for selling me out and yo is going to get yer apples before the fat lady sings." Judas was an apostate. Apostates are not loved and are unloveable. They hate God and they love Satan. They will lie through their teeth to make you think they are telling the truth. We should never talk to apostates, it is like talking to the Devil himself.

  Saintly Sluttiness?

  i ran across this this morning at lucianne.com and thought it really had a different perspective than the usual bible-based values in a lot of our world today (that aren't really adhered to anyway).

  i highlighted the pertinent parts, imo.

  i put it in bible research because it contradicts the bible and is based on evolutionary science.

  I've long been interested in the science of human sexuality and evolutionary sexuality. The article you posted was interesting and insightful. Typically, in American Culture, we see serial monogamy becoming more common and there seems to be a growing trend towards people remaining single longer, especially men as it is easier to get sex these days outside of committed relationships. Even in marriage, DNA testing statistics Ive read suggest that many of the children born in the relationship come from a different man than her spouse.

  It wouldnt surprise me at all to see this trend developing much more in the future. When improvements come along in birth control technology (like the Canadian invisible condom cream coming soon to the market and male birth control pills) it will likely encourage some more sexuality. New breakthroughs in true sexual aphrodisiacs and cures for sexual dysfunction (for example the new technology to make women more orgasmic) will push the envelope of sexual experimentation. Of course, if they develop an effective vaccine for HIV and Herpes, then we might have another sexual revolution.

  You can also add to the fact that literally millions of people are using the Internet and personal ads to meet and find people for dating and sex and the social climate is such that people are seeking new alternatives for their personal lives, allowing for alternative sexuality to come of age.

  I seem to keep hearing more and more complaints of how traditional marriage ruins sex (not to say that this has to be the case as there are still many married couples who enjoy great sex) and makes it boring or non-existent.

  I would suspect then that change is well under way for a new tolerance for sexual promiscuity from both men and women.

  Uh, we don't judge anyone. Only God can judge hearts but we got to keep the organization clean. How would you keep it clean? Would you let evil doers, drug dealers, child molesters, (whoops scratch that) stay in your midst?

  Ah, I certainly don't know for sure who will survive the destruction of this system of things but God has seen fit to use this organization and they say that you need to associate yourselves with us to survive. Wouldn't you rather go through troubled times with the support of people you can trust and love than make do on your own?

  Looks lustfully again at Mimilly and wonders how much more of this he can take.

  I find it disturbing that you know so much about our organization and you allow yourself to be stumbled over a little thing like this! God always uses imperfect people, the uneducated, the poor, the wretched, the meek to use as his instruments. They are bound to make mistakes but they are humble and acknowledge they made mistakes (after all we are only human) but the light is getting brighter and brighter and only those who show great endurance will survive the end of this wicked system of things.

  All these mistakes made in the past therefore are of no real importance. What is really important is to associate yourself with us and send money regularly to Brooklyn...err I mean to apply yourself to the spiritual food given out by the FDS to change your life in harmony with the scriptures so that you too can survive into the new order. Then, you will have a wonderful life living like a third world farmer working your ass off to get enough to eat, err I mean you will enjoy the pristine agricultural life free from stress and suffering we see all around us.

  what? Oh, well where were we? Groan, disfellowshiping.

  Well, the early Christians removed people from their congregations that were causing problems and this is the example. There was a lot of things that Jesus didn't address that the early Christian congregations had to deal with.

  I think people make too much of this disfellowshiping mechanism. Other churches do it too you know. It is called excommunication by them, same thing but just a different name.

  Everyone knows that we want disfellowshiped ones to repent and come back in. This provision helps them appreciate the need to be spiritually strong and while the sentences may be tough, it is better to keep the congregation clean than to be too soft and let evil take root inside the congregation. By the way, didn't Jesus say he came to not create peace but to create divisions in family? Sad to say, many people fail to appreciate that just being a family member doesn't mean you will survive Armaggedon when God kills all those who won't own up to his high standards. You have to be in good standing to survive this coming battle between good and evil. If you are soft on disfellowshiped ones you can't do that.

  Yes, well where were we? Disfellowshiping. Yes, this is a Biblically based example of how to keep congregations clean. You must remove the bad apple from the bunch or it spoils all the rest. It is simply a way to seperate those individuals who don't abide by Godly standards away from those who truly want to serve God and do their best to keep spiritually clean. Without this wonderful tool, individual weaknesses would be exploited by wolves in the congregation to cause them to become unclean.

  Well we can be certain that Jehovah's Witnesses are the true and only organization approved by God because they preach the good news worldwide, they speak about God's name, they have an accurate understanding of the Bible, and they are blessed by God. The evidence is so overwhelming that it is indisputable. It might be hard for you to see that being an outsider but once you have investigated it you can see for yourself. Would you like to come to one of our meetings to see the joy we experience from being God's choosen people?
