  What show scared you as a kid?

  posting on wtlies thread i got to thinking about the shows i watched as a kid.

  there were a couple that scared the &*^% out of me.

  the old twilight zone where the little demon guy was on the airplane wing was really scary.

  Wow is this thread ever bringing back memories!

  Invasion of the Body Snatchers - the 70s version. Very scary. Never could watch the end of it as a kid.

  Gaslight - an old Hitchcock film about a man driving his wife insane so he can have her money

  War of the Worlds

  V

  Psycho - although I didn't watch that until I was in my 20s

  What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? - that is one creepy film

  There's more but that'll do.

  Edit: Oh, and the scariest film I have ever seen in my entire life was In the Still of the Night. The dream sequence scared the piss outta me.

  The extent of JW preaching world wide

  i have a feeling that tens of years ago jw's had the idea that matt.

  24:14 preaching work was understood to cover literally places like china, india etc.

  todays trend and figures do not really support this interpretation and i wonder what is the "present truth" about the expected extent of preaching work?

  I was under the impression that they were leaning towards the explanation that not all the earth would be covered before the end came. From the Scripture that says that 'by no means will you complete the whole circuit of cities,' or something like that.

  using their own watchtower doctrines, i can show that satan hates those who protect child abusers and punish the abuse victims.

  satan is the "god of this world" and runs the show.

  he makes governments do what he wants and outside of the watchtower publishing corporation, makes every one else do what he wants, too.

  I doubt JWs will get it. As was mentioned, they'll just think it means they're being persecuted, and that Jehovah's attack is imminent. I bet quite a few concerned JWs will be contacting their DF/DA'd family members to try to get them to return, thinking Armageddon is about to take place.

  There was a earthshaking debate as to calling the board in the back of the hall, an information board or a bulletin board. Calling it the wrong thing could get you publicly reproved.

  I remember that. Bulletin board was bad because that's what the churches called it, or something stupid like that. We had to callit the information board.

  When my mum was studying, she told someone who refused to talk to her at the door, "Alright, it's your funeral."
