  Maximum Damage to the WT.

  i have to hand it to the society.

  they understand the power of organization.

  they demonstrate that no matter how ridiculous your message and how much the facts don't support your position you can still accomplish a lot if you are organized.

  Parallels to The Borg in movies?

  hope y'all don't mind if i ghost write this post for my husband.... i recently let my friend borrow my copy of the movie "the island".

  for those who haven't seen it, the plot takes place in a futuristic setting in los angeles where science has perfected human cloning.

  the latest rage in medicine is to have a clone made and maintained for you should you ever need it for organ transplants.

  Our family watched the Village, it was scary, but intriguing.

  The community was living in the past just a century ahead of the Amish standards.

  The leaders were using old text books, and rolled back the years of the calendar date

  to match that same century! Wow, just thinking about it gives me clarity!

  At our home, we came to the same conclusions as you.

  A really telling series to watch is "Star-Gate." The parallels are shocking!

  RE: Jaffar=Catholic Church, The Ori=WT GB, The Gate=the Internet,

  SGS Team=people like us; with Daniel the archaeologist, Tealc the escaped victim,

  and others. For movies, geeks like Tron.

  i've been getting into it.. i came across dr. fuhrman.

  he's an authority (board certified family physician).

  It sounds like the common consensus among us is :

  1) no longer treating religions as from God, but accepting true worship of God

  2) no longer putting mens word first, but God's word is the end all

  3) it's not about organized religion, but small group meetings at home

  4) it's not just ex-jw's, but all lost sheep no matter where they're from

  5) not run by money at all, just helpers in the Lord

  6) not dictated by same men till they die, just those currently involved

  7) and studies not from Christendom's books, just historical information.

  "if a brother has been baptized at least one year and to a reasonable degree meets the scriptural qualifications for ministerial servants outlined at 1 timothy 3:8-13, he can be recommended for appointment.".

  how often have you seen someone become a ministerial servant one year after baptism?

  That pious act of carrying the mics. was used at a 60 plus publisher Cong.;

  that was full of baptized and qualified brothers, that we once attended.

  10 years ago, at a smaller Cong., it was because the elders were to nit picky.

  All their mic. brothers quit handling them; today, their gone and Cong. is still shrinking.

  We saw his program on PBS. When those shows come on, we take notes.

  Though not as detailed as we once did at the conventions, but just the basics.

  That way we don't go overboard as sticklers do, yet can benefit from the tips offered.

  It's easier to follow something when it's a principle applied to circumstances,

  rather than a 100% "must do'", in every case.

  Theres anti-racial country buffs and the fanatically charged sports attitude.

  Finally, a strong presence of the highly competitive spirit that destroys all things different.

  Often CO's and elders make this statement when problems arise in the area:

  "Congregations are like people, they all have different personalities.",

  and "Each congregation is a reflection of the community that it's in/from."
