  you can disassociate without even knowing it...very rare!

  this works well for elders who are cowards and want you out but dont really have a dfing offense to hang on you...even if you make no statement written or oral that you no longer want to be a jw they can say you quit jw.

  they can say that some actions of yours indicated to them that you have disassociated yourself and when that happens they are not even required to tell you there is a committee formed...so there is no reason to tell you a letter is going to be read and so you have no two week period to challenge their decision...but they do not even have to tell you why they reached the decision that something you did that made them conclude you have disassociated yourself.

  in fifty years i have never even known anyone who disassociated themselves...and have never even heard of anyone disassociating themselves without even knowing it!!!!

  assemblies and alcohol

  our dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife,zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type,not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.

  anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks,alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!

  they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session,way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.

  Here in The States it was announced throughout the convention days.

  At the outset of the sessions the speaker would say: "Do not bring alcoholic beverages to the

  convention site during the sessions." Before dismissal for lunch they announce: "Do not order

  drinks that contain alcohol during the noon break." Then at the end of each day said: "Please

  exercise caution when consuming alcoholic drinks at restaurants", and to "not over drink at

  your Hotel's bar, or back at your hotel room." Scriptural quotes followed these "admonishments",

  and they became part of the basic announcements around the year 2007. While standing,

  a lot of those/us in attendances would jest or point at one another jokingly.

  In the movie: "Lost in Space", You have two corporations=Catholics, Protestants.

  They engage in a race to populate new space=spread religion to the "new world".

  The more competitive (Protestant) org. is sabotaged=corp. influence, by the other.

  It's flag ship=WT&BTS, is isolated=rejects (Protestantism), with an infiltrator=GB elites.

  The infiltrator collaborates with space spiders=demons. This leads to the

  (mother) ship being lost further into deep space=WT's "far out" beliefs of present!

  reading a life time of WT literatrash = College education

  or at least that's what my super jw ex-roommate told me when i try to have an adult discussion w her about the importance of a higher education... according to her (a girl that never finished hs because it was not necessary) she has a better education than any college graduate because the jehovah has used the borg literatrash to teach her many many important things.... she says her knowledge of the "truth" is the equivalent of my 4 years of college education..... .

  Several elders in our area obviously agree to some extent with these reasonings.

  Thats because they have sent their sons not to WT service, but to 4-y. colleges! T

  wo stepped down as elders to accomplish it. Another's son was taking "Mythology,"

  and lastly; one elder's family was keeping the education a secret from the Congo?

  These examples are taken from only two Congos.

  At least two couples per Cong. of elders and wives (in those districts) with/without grown children were interested in this. - 2008-10

  They were talking often about "downsizing (work/possessions)", "increasing (in) the ministry", "serving Jehovah/the brothers."

  Most of these were full time poi. or PO families, and many were franticly competing in FS while the CO was visiting them.

  It was a hypocritical bonanza, as some of the most hateful and snobbish ones joined in, "walking the walk, talking the talk." Gross!

  The majority of these types, were obsessed with position, power, privileges, parts at assy's,

  and some had visible control issues (bullying.)

  The mags. are designed; with all their color and wide variety of topics, to appeal to the public

  in order to strike up a conversation, and bate the householder for a return visit.

  The WT writing committee makes sure that there are a few intellectual points per article, to impress.

  The publishers are pumped up with scriptures that describes them as the apostles, "unlettered men",

  and that college's training is as Paul's "refuse." However; the articles are not equivalent to a

  college coarse, and the poor JW's come off sounding like "jack's of all trades, masters of none."

  Some in our family have had elders fill-in for CO's for decades.

  But around 2008, One elder fill-in was telling the publishers that:

  "The Society wants the congregations to have three circuit overseer's visits per year."

  Also that that Congo. "hasn't had three visits for a quite some time" and that

  "the purpose in this is to not neglect the brothers needs."

  He also told them that they, [their Congo.] "need(ed) to hear the "third (set of)

  talk(s) for 'being built up'." Furthermore, he and his wife were looking forward to

  being excepted by the GB for the future work as a CO couple. Yet; they weren't

  making any plans to move or end work, just using two vacation days per Congo.

  More on Saturday's drama: Endo-symbiotic theory mentioned not once but twice

  i don't want to give a full synopsis of saturday's drama, for fear of inducing stupor among this thread's readers, but.... .

  the drama deals with a jw family with 3 kids, 2 of whom are in various stages of rebellion against all things jw.. the older brother is one of the "rebels", while the younger brother is a thoroughly annoying piece of brown-nosing crapola, completely buying into the jw mindset.. anyways, the younger brother is asking the older brother about why he doesn't want to attend the family study any more.. the older kid's rambling answer touches on something along the lines of "i'm learning things in school about how life really came here.

  it's not as simple as you think!".

  I kinda hope my wife finds out about me

  so we had a 'special' visitor today in our hall, somebody from patterson, young fellow with a wife.

  off course i didn't catch that at first until he started name dropping in the first 5 minutes that he was from bethel .

  so he goes on rambling about how we live in the last days and blah-di-blah .

  Where we're from, a lot of the elders themselves are on that level. One time a middle age man said:

  "Bull pucky!", while a local elder was on a FDS ti-raid and it's rules. And those around him heard it,

  and snickered under their breaths! Another time an older man who was hard of hearing, use to talk loudly

  during the talks. Only trouble was, he had a knack for poor timing. Can you imagine how perturbed

  the elders were, that every serious talk became a comedy show! Some of this man's phrases were:

  "Huh! What was that? , What did he say? I see his mouth moving but I can't make a sense of it,

  What did he say? Was it important?" Most in the hall heard these comments regularly,

  since strict silence was enforced at that hall. Sometimes, the speaker had to include him into the talk

  by answering him back with a: "Why yes!"
