i've been having some medical issues recently and had to check into the emgerceny hospital.
when they admitted me the registar asked my mother my religion.
she told them jehovah's witness.
How unnecessarily stressful when you were already trying to cope with illness in the hospital.
Especially in view of the fact that the elders manual has changed the judicial status of "the blood issue".
Then there are the other slight modifications that are happening in real time situations.
One that comes to mind is a fellow poster here, who told us that his mom was told that Hemopure was a conscience matter according to the liaison committee.
At any rate, glad you are home and recovering now!

so i'm back on here after being away for years.
i joined back up to vent about problems i was having with family but i thought i'd share a good experience i had on here too.. .
my old congregation was on one corner of a city block that was primarily owned by the local community college.
Welcome back! Your actions make perfect sense to me.
this always bothered me.. so the dust finally settles and your glad your still alive, so the first thing you do is phone your family and friends to see if their ok. no signal.
ok i'll drive to the kingdom hell to find out what to do.

Interesting too what xkhanx pointed out in the July 28th study article....JWs will be the only "religious" org. left around.
What does that mean? Other organizations will be around? Other people? Starting to shift the view who will be left? Just why exactly put in that word ORG?
this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.
i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?
i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.
I have some take aways I still think of often.
Here are 3 that come to mind:
"see good for your hard work"
"in a multitude of counselers there is wisdom"
"love is stronger than death is"
ok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

You did not take a step in a wrong direction.

Honestly? I think the harder it is to disentangle is just a reflection of how very much one honors ones vows and commitments.
I am an extremely loyal person and turning my back and walking away is so very hard.
Because of that I feel a lot of empathy for you and your situation.
Its only 31 days out of the big picture and who knows?
Things will probably happen in that time that will make your way even clearer.
recently a jw friend that my wife & i knew 3 years ago added me on facebook, after i accepted the request she invited me to a dinner that her and her husband are holding next month.. i imagined that she was unaware of our apostasy, so i declined the invitation on the basis of not wanting to ruin her dinner after the rest of her guests fled at our presence.. i'm never sure how old friends will react when i tell them that i'm no longer a jw.. usually their response is "..... permanent-silence......".
her response went something like this, " we are all out!
everyone that is coming is out we all look forward to seeing you guys so much" it turns out that there will be 6 people at the dinner all friends of ours from a congregation that we attended a few years back.. they have all left the organization recently.. pretty crazy experience..
Obviously you were a clear thinking person who attracted clear thinking people...
to all bodies of elders.
the congregation secretary should arrange for this letter to be retained in the congregation permanent file of policy letters.
he may also wish to update the congregation copy of the index to lettersfor bodies of elders (s-22) at this time as well.
Given the rapacious attitude most elders display toward the flock, less elders can only be a good thing.
