i've noticed increasing amounts of jw's are coming off fb and deactivating completely.
all with the same reason which they post about at lenght which is that they wwant to focus more on their spiritual life and not have the distraction of fb.. have i missed something or is this just a coincidence?.
I think they are getting off FB because they have started judging one another...
a very potent way to affect herd behavior. In my own family of JWs, the "mosty" spiritual do NOT have FB. The young ones and the "less" spiritual do.
One sibling just married an extremely spiritual critter and now closed down his FB because he is going to be "more" spiritual now.
Its kind of like the driving a sports car or a minivan....
tells the "judgy McJudgersons" all they need to know about you....

From what I understand so far.
People dying for lack of a blood transfusion in a third world country is an ideal situation for the Org.
Why?
It shows other Witnesses how "faithful" ones act
It highlights the need to move bloodless technology to these countries
Many high level (rich) JWs are heavily invested in all branches of this technology. They benefit when this technology spreads.
These high level investors support and give monetarily to all the Orgs endeavors.
It is very similar to powerful politicians who are put in office by very rich people who want their agendas and ideals carried out.
In that illustration, the GB would be the politicians and the bloodless tech folks would be just who they are - the money people.
It was a brilliant idea when you think about it....your religion forbids blood? Find a way around that and get rich while appearing to do a good deed for the world.
I can see this really taking off in African countries where there is so much fear of contamination in the blood supply which is scarce already.

Because she is a poor woman in a fundamentalist religion living in a third world country.

I would be willing to bet that NONE of the GB would let this happen to their family member.
As the religion begins to grow in third world countries, their scandals and poorly administered doctrines are going to really become news.
They dont have all the access to bloodless products that are available in first world countries.
Wonder if they've thought that one over?

Ths story is even worse than it appears at first glance.
She was DFd a few years ago for taking a blood transfusion after childbirth. It took her town officials intervening for the JWs to reinstate her.
This time she was determined, along with her mother, NOT to take blood. As she neared death she relented and agreed but it was too late for the blood to work.
So she has been put through the trauma of being DFd for this very thing and was facing it all over again and tried hard to avoid DFing but got scared and relented and now died with that strike against her (being unfaithful).
She lost on every level.
Her children - all nine of them - lost on every level.
