Dont worry.
If need be, the rocks will cry out.
It says so in the Bible.
does anyone have any theories why our territory that's be reduced six or seven times over the last twenty years is not covered anymore?
we use to cover our area in less than six months and now nobody really keeps track of how the preaching work by territory is going.
is the advent of the mobile-literature machine why we don't see a zealous preaching spirit?
Dont worry.

i found this video segment to be very interesting.
substitute jw for mormon and russell/rutherford for smith and you have a very good comparison.
maybe post-jw's could all meet up at a blood bank for coffee.. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/2015/06/26/june-26-2015-former-mormons/26293/.
This quote from Joe134s first link- sounds just like the Org....
The church has a very progressive research and information division, with tremendous public opinion surveyors," he said. Among other steps, it has hired an expert in search-engine optimization to raise the profile of the church's own views in a web search.
observing our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.
along the way it's gossipy this and that.
pioneers?
I love that QB LOL
Of the categories you gave, I was definitely phantom pioneer.
After years of figuring out how to navigate the pioneer system, I learned to make my own arrangements. I had lots of studies and I was always willing to drive and pay for the gas.
I didnt meet with the group for morning service which helped a lot!
a car group out in service stopped by.
we don't even live in the territory, not even close.
we happened to be outside with the kids playing.
I agree with Faye, that is mortifying when it happens (I had a similar visit recently) but I love your take on it "out of the mouth of babes" indeed! LOL
So they told you to train them now so you wont have problems later and yet 2/3 of all JW kids flee the Org when they can.
So what good does all that "training" do?
You sound like you are doing the wise thing....might as well relax and raise your children to be good people and enjoy cake!

pioneers?
I pioneered for the first time at 20 and it was 100 hours.
I used to end up with laryngitis because my pioneering was hard core genuine due to my pioneer partner being an 80 yr old widow with a lot of vim and vigor.
I quit pioneering to have a family and many years later jumped back in and the whole scene of pioneering was quite different.
It was basically a bunch of people barely going out in service in the morning with the publishers and then meeting back for lunch and then long afternoon hours drifting around doing useless stuff. Things like studying with people with Alzheimers in nursing homes who basically didnt know they were even there and certainly wouldnt remember! But hey, it was sitting down and climate controlled so the pioneers went for it.
Another thing, there is a LOT of gossiping and the accompanying judging that goes on during those long afternoons of doing "nothing" that some call pioneering.
Day 2 StarTrekAngel...
Just think! By the time lunch is over you are past the halfway mark of this yuck weekend!
You are on the downhill slide and soon it will all be in the past!
Interesting what you told us about the Jesus video yesterday. I hope that gets more conversation here on the board.
Thanks for being our on the scene reporter. You are taking one for the team!
personally i think this is wonderful.
i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.
a lot of them are even saying that it's the start to armageddon!!.
I have a very out and publicly known gay sibling.
This split my extremely theocratic minded family in to a severe schism that has been on going long before I learned TTAT.
Yesterday was a wonderful day for my sibling. We have always maintained our relationship and the df and "gay" labels as determined by the Org were never applicable between just the two of us.
That is part of what caused such a split among our family. I would simply not turn my back on this one relative and my other siblings were more than willing to do so. . The DF policy was what made them feel they had the right to be homophobic. There was no talking to them or reasoning with them about the real issue (being gay) once they had THAT DF stamp of approval from the Org,
This moment in time is of course, a very tsk tsk one for my highly functioning (one missionary, the rest pioneers) other family members.
One thing I know for sure having known them all my life, 2 of them would not act this way if they did not have the others pressuring them. The "others" wouldnt carry so much influence if they didnt "speak for God via the Org."
with the roll out of watchtower 2.0 aka jw.org the corporation has been going to great lengths to bring the wacky doctrine that it has been preaching for decades to vivid reality.
they have been painstakingly staging not only bible fables with heavy prop use and post production, but are trying to bring to life their projected future for mankind.. more recently they have been trying to play on the fears that people have of scenarios such as martial law unfolding and integrating their great tribulation doctrine mumbo jumbo in.. regardless of what you think (for instance whether there may be martial law declared due to terrorist activity or natural disaster, or if that idea is just too far fetched) this sort of thing has a much greater impact when people see people placed in these scenes.
as illogical as the great tribulation doctrine may be, jws will not only place themselves in these scenarios, but will have their anticipation for them to be over with cranked up.. .
zeal has always been a valued word in the jw arsenal.
even if you don't see it in your own local congregation, you keep hearing about it.
"zeal this" and "zeal that".
You know that is true done4,
When I hear the word "zealot" I think "uh-oh weirdo comin up"
in that sense, it is an excellent witness word!
