sigh...that has to drive you crazy!
For a lot of the older JW women that is the highlight of their year socially and spiritually and its hard to budge them.
When does the Dr suggest and when is the assembly? The two times may line up ok?
I hope so.
my mum today was told that she urgently needs a pacemaker.
the doctor said he would push this through as quickly as possible.. my mum was more concerned about it clashing with her convention!
she told me she would rather leave the op till after the convention even though the doctor said it was urgent.

I was going to say cray cray but that wasnt a choice was it?
This is such a fun game, thanks Cappy!
.
i can't believe they had the cheek to come out with that explanation.. it's no more "new light" it's "new scam"!!
!.
I read that article above and I have to wonder - what is their point really?
The euphoric feeling that Mark and Claire are expressing are experienced by many others who do some kind of social service, a soup kitchen, a mission to Costa Rica, etc.
The Catholics, the Mormons and now even other mainstream churches are starting missions and sending their young people so they can have a transformational experience helping people.
None of them have the "truth" and yet they still feel exactly the same way.
The people reading this magazine are mostly not in a position to drop their families and lives to run "rely on Jah".
So all I can conclude is this type of article is to be read while sipping your latte and make you feel guilty and then relieve that guilt by showing up for an obligatory 2 hours of service on Saturday...or Hall cleaining....or both.
And definitely its designed to make you drop more money in the "contribution" box so that Mark and Claire can keep having good feelings that you "helped" with.
Everybody gets something!
Mark and Claire stay do gooders with the resultant euphoria that comes with it, Starbucks gets to keep its latte sipping Watchtower reading customers and the Org gets $$$.
See?
what we can read in the wt 10/15/2015... they have really no shame!.
.
This is so funny (ironic) in view of the fact that in the section addressing pedophiles in the July address by Morris, he claims being "naive" as a legitimate reason why things werent acted on sooner.
They need to make up their mind as to whether this is a bad or good trait.
the internet is the archive for civilization.. watchtower cannot hide it's history.. are we seeing the beginning of a mass exodus out of her?.
Speak to mature brothers about it?
What does that imply? Are they trying to say elders? Why not a mature sister?
just wondering what questions you might ask an active jw following the july broadcast and the 10 minutes addressing child sex abuse?
or is it even worth the trouble.
I would say to any JW about this broadcast,
"Just remember, what they are worried about they talk about"
Doubters was the concern at the Regional and pedophile cases is the worry they have 24/7
don't want to get into a lot of detail but it seems like my wife is finally having some flashes of awareness.
she's got them before, but not in very touchy subjects.
she was willing to seat down with me and look over some websites talking about some very controversial subjects that i do not dare to write about at the moment.
anybody know about a brother h. latchman in fl.
a jw elder was talking to me about him.
he was so impressed with the fact that he was a. sub.
There certainly appears to be a distinct class of educated wealthy JWs that sit apart from the normal rank and file JW. Do we know if these JW heavies are part of the select group of 500 men or so that actually make up "The Society"? Or are they just part of that mysterious "patron class" that have been taught the green ack ack adack secret handshake?
It would help if there was a list of the "500" wouldnt it?
I am guessing that is not public information perhaps?
special assembly was attended by 30,000 and 173 was baptized.. see video-footage given by english language belgian web site.. (interestingly, the press spokesman was a sister).. http://deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws.english.
Quite frankly I am amazed at the baptismal numbers coming out of Europe. I thought Europe was becoming decidedly secular?
I wonder what accounts for this?
