  me: "have you read about the royal commission?

  the org has been covering up child abuse.

  Me: "Have you read about the Royal Commission? The Org has been covering up child abuse. The head of Australia branch gave evidence and even lied to try stop them calling a GB member to testify!"
  Him: "I am not talking about this"
  Me: "That's ok, as long as you are aware"
  "Its just screwed up that the branch documents show its ok to appoint a pedo elder"
  Him: 'I said I don't want to talk about it, i agree it is not right, but let jah deal with it"
  Me: "Sorry, don't worry. As long as you keep informed, that's what I'm asking"
  Him: "The Royal Commission is how Jehovah is fixing it"

  
  

  That sounds totally normal for a conversation with a JW.

  Why won't they simply change policy on sex offenders? Will they?

  why won't they (the wbt$ head honchos), simply change policy on sex offenders?

  will they?..especially after the arc for eg?

  it seems that with all the bad press and now the arc among other institutions that are exposing the wbt$ for a haven for paedophiles, why hasn't the wbt$ simply changed it's insane policy?.

  I think it is mainly us punk.

  I imagine they will be changing a few things. Like Paul Grundy pointed out in his interview, some of their "new light" changes are money driven via the courts.

  I can picture them having women as some kind of auxilliary comfort source while NOT letting them participate in the actual judicial process.

  A way of having their cake and eating it too in their own minds. They already use women in the writing of publications, in the Attendance Dept. at Regional s, and on their legal team, so this wouldnt be a stretch really.

  I doubt they are making actual $$ off of it.

  I think they are doing this to answer the criticism that the elderly on fixed incomes and the "poor" cannot afford to access the spiritual food.

  Perhaps. If they are pioneering then maybe a little bit more likely.

  Time can be counted for giving a public talk so why not?

  It is all basically meaningless (in this instance- in terms of accurate reporting) anyhow.
