Impression of Leaked Letter Regarding Annual Meeting
by freemindfade inthe letter that watchtower free put up was very interesting.
here is my impression.. the watchtower is becoming more and more geared towards idiots.
the midweek meeting has a stupid name, and the parts sound equally dumb.

Can anyone think of a financial gain in recruiting lower IQ members?
I am serious...is there a government program that funds teaching classes for this?
I am looking at what possible gain could be in this for the Org.

Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick
by sir82 inheard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

Take two
A less inflammatory or dramatic hypothesis on current developments would be:
A couple years ago we heard a rumor of infighting on the writing committee - some mentioned a walk out occurred. As far as I know this was never substantiated.
What DID happen is D.Os got the ax and C.O.s got a "promotion" (now they can appoint and delete - heady stuff in their little world)
a lot of energy was spent promoting cart witnessing and KH building.
The only one that involved the Org in any way that they actually care about, was the building work - the cart witnessing is the peons job.
This news coming out today is a pretty big swing in such a little controlled world.
So maybe the powers that be really are fighting as to what direction to take things?

This is all sounding like the way things go when someone has embezzled a lot of money from up top.
If that has occurred and has just been discovered, this would all be the logical fall out one would expect to see.
Just sayin

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

Thanks freemind,
I appreciate the info. This is all about something...the GB sending a divided message on who speaks for God these days (is it them? Is it collective? Is it presumptive? etc) Anthony Morris looking so whipped in his talk in the latest video....
I wish we knew what is behind this but one thing is for sure..it is all related.
Magnum14 minutes agoThanks for the confirmation. I ask again: "What's going on?
.I agree!

The bridge burning has begun.
by sparrowdown ini was feeling particularly hopeless about the whole jws being assholes thing and sick to death of pretending so ....
i rang my sister and told her that i no longer believe jws have the truth and the phone went silent, when i asked her to say something she just said if that was the case then she would have to hang up on me and then proceeded to indeed hang up..
so i texted her back immediately with fu..

Good news/bad news but really good news all because of a wonderful board member
by Still Totally ADD inthis last week i was e-mailed that my aunt had died.
she was 95 years old and had a long a good life with a loving family around her.
the reason this is more good news than bad is because due to the help of a member on this board i was able to reconnect with her.

How the times have changed
by mynameislame inhttp://finance.yahoo.com/news/catholic-church-missing-billions-124522003.html.
catholic churches across the country have high hopes that his (the pope's) stopover will reinvigorate and offer fresh inspiration and spiritual guidance to their congregations.
but when it comes to the church's approach to receiving donations, its failure to adapt to easy online and mobile payment options means it is missing out on billions of dollars and suffering a "30-year dramatic downward slide," experts warn.

Well the JWs dont share the donation problem then I guess?
They have ATMs at assemblies, online donations and videos showing happy people doing online donating - so they must be rolling in the money!
