This makes me so sad to read Eden.
I guess you never knew how many of us here have been observing and the respect for you has grown proportionately.
If there is anything I could say or do to encourage you to reconsider please PM me.

no facts about the world are absolutely certain.
that being the case i wonder how others would rank amd rate their confidence in various factual statements about the world.
i am going to rate my confidence in ten items of "knowledge" as a percentage.
I loved your topic post so much I read it through twice.
I agree with your statements as well as your percentages for the most part. The one I might wonder about is #2 and I would say my percentage is a bit lower.
i was sitting at the recent circuit assembly that i attended, (the things i do for sis blues) and the baptism talk was under way .
i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !
i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?
Why then did Jesus say, "You must pray then this way..."
what need would already baptized people have in a basic primer on how to pray?
okay, i need to vent.
as a newly awoken individual, i have yet to "come out" to my hard core jdub parents.
my plan was to lay low and use my unbelieving husband and baby as an excuse for my "inactivity", it has worked for the last few months.
Its nice that your baby is young enough that you have some time to figure out exactly how you want to handle this.
When (if) you tell her no to the videos from the Org could you have some videos to hand her that are appropriate? Something like the "Baby Einstein" videos perhaps?
II mention those because they are popular even with the Witness moms although they are not religious at all.
That way your mom could have something you both agree on th show the baby.
so, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.
real friendships aren't conditional.".
i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.
There are always conditions to any relationship. The question is who is setting the conditions. Are the conditions set between me and the other person alone or is some outside entity setting the conditions?
Excellent point.
Under normal conditions, a person attracts or is attracted to friends that appeal to them. The code the friendship operates under would be workable to both parties.
Thats probably where we get that old saw "Birds of a feather flock together" or "Theres someone for everyone".
The problem is when something outside the friendship such as in this case JW ism tells you who to be friends with and what the conditions are.
after having a baby ?

we just had an elder drop by and invite my wife to the kh with a 21 day old baby.. i thought it was kind of classless.
I love that response LisaRose.
LOVE it!

well tomorrow is a big day for me.
i'm finally going to be interviewed by the police about what happened to me as a kid.. im running the whole gamut of emotions at the moment.
sad, anxious, angry, guilt, fear and many more that cannot be quantified.. i feel physically sick, cannot sleep, have lost my appetite and i am desperately trying not to self harm.. i've got my sister to thank for getting this far.
..your experience with the watchtower corporation:.
i'll start...... bully boy elders.
well, my sister-in-law and her husband, special pioneers for only a couple of years, just got their letter.. her comment was along the lines of, "they're having to do this because they forgave all those kingdom hall loans a few years ago and the brothers aren't donating anymore.".
when my wife told me, i laughed so hard i farted.
;).
Cappy, does she know about that big huge building they just bought near Walkill?
I wonder what she would think then?
Your post was so funny...thanks for the laugh!!!
