One of the things I love about reading here. Thank you for sharing it.
the gb bit off more than they can chew.
they promised that the nwt revised would be available in so many languages by now, and they have failed miserably.. english stands alone.
as a result, they are in damage control mode.

before i start my subject post, i like to extend a warm welcome to all the new members that have joined the site.
i just can't keep up with all the new names.
nice to see all of you here.. i haven't posted anything in a while because of work, scheduling and everything else, but i do have some interesting thoughts that i would like to share with all of you in the coming months.
Hey Truth and Justice, was that the same Indiana Jones movie that had he name Jehovah in it?
Seems one could have cancelled out the other!
I grew up in the cant say geez, gee or golly era too.
What fun!
i did not realize that they were symptoms that something was wrong with my cat -but i did notice that my cat was breathing a little differently for a period of about a few days.
i also noticed prior and after to that, that on occasion, my cat would cry at the litter box, but that was a very seldom event.. anyway, about a week ago i noticed the symptom that my very loved cat was breathing heavy.
so i called a taxi and i was going to rush him to emergency room for cats.
Dear Fisherman,
So deeply sorry for you. Your feelings of loss are compounded by the stressful events that surrounded the death. I really feel for you as I have experienced a similar thing.
It can be such a sharp unrelenting pain that it even hurts to breathe.
Here is a quote that someone shared with me - I hope it gives you some small measure of comfort.
Let not your grief be equal to his worth, because then your sorrow would have no end.
Macbeth Act 5a great new video to circulate.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swzwg5swbcm .
I have watched this several times and laugh my head off each time.
Cappy is brilliant and thanks for posting it again clarity.
May it circulate far and wide!~
interesting in a new video on tv jw org "edward aljian: an important reminder", from 6 minutes onwards.
he asks a question about abraham: "couldn't jehovah have spared abraham a lot of grief by telling the promised offspring would be by sara?".
jehovah only disclosed this when ishmael was in his early teens.
A friend just emailed me this video and said it was tremendous.
Tremendous?
I just listened to the whole 41 minutes (while reading here - truth be told) and found nothing remarkable about it whatsoever.
HE talks about how hard it is to live at Bethel (glad someone admits that) and encourages those not in "Bethel service" to substitute the words faithful service.
He tirelessly beats the drum that we have sadness and trials because it is Satans world. No mention of our lives being what we make of it.
I guess that is the "hook" the spiritual balm for JWs...if you are hurting its because Satan HATES you for being such a good servant of Jah.
If a message can be short term comforting and long term depressing that has to be it in a nutshell.
Yes, it would be great if all lives ails were because we were good people but it is the trying to better things and succeeding that empowers us and brings us life satisfaction.
JWs never get to experience that loop at all. Unless they quit being quite so "faithful" and just launch themselves in to life.
How could I not see all this when I was in?
here's a link to an interesting article on the apparent demise of cults.
i can remember being accosted by various culty groups back in the '70s, while walking through the airport in lax.
this article ties the dwindling number of cults in western culture, to a shift towards secularism.
Interesting article.
Perhaps secularism will be the reason less people get sucked int.
Cults will survive as long as the human need to turn over ones thinking to a higher power does.
i was just watching the jw broadcasting network and the topic being discussed was forgiveness.
the fellow presenting the topic was talking a brother who had sinned many years ago.
he finally came clean with the local elders, accepted his discipline and got on with his life.
The elders manual gives the idea that the magic number is 3 years. Anything over 3 years old and an elder does not "necessarily' have to be removed from serving.
But that is only for fornicatin elders!
Publishers have no statue of limitations on their wrongdoing.

Its hard to take their judicial system seriously because the variables are endless and inconsistent.
For example, in their own manual, they state that if an elder is guilty of a sin which is judicial and it is not known for years AND the congregation still views him as an "older man" that there is no need to remove him because of an "old" sin.
So if the leadership can - why not the members?
so, 8 months after i realized ttat and 7 months removed from completely walking away from jw land, i think i'm almost ready to find out what it is i actually believe.
after all of the research i did while exiting the jws, i took a much needed break from any religious/spiritual or whatever things.
now i think i'm ready to explore, see what's out there.
There is a whole big world awaiting you to explore...
enjoy the journey!
two jehovah's witnesses congregations abolished by courts.
today, 11 february 2016, an administrative lawsuit by the prosecutor of belgorod province for finding the local religious organization of jehovah's witnesses in the city of belgorod to be extremist and liquidated was granted by decision of the belgorod provincial court.
yesterday the provincial court issued a decision on the administrative lawsuit of the provincial prosecutor for liquidation of the local religious organizations of jehovah's witnesses in the city of stary oskol.. the above quote is from one of 5 articles at link.. the fourth article, doctors in court: "jehovah's witnesses died after refusing blood transfusions", gives a synopsis of the hearing in the belgorod provincial court on feb 8.. two doctors were summoned into court as witnesses in order to learn whether religious convictions have affected the state of health of jehovist patients and whether they could be the cause of the death of patients.
Thank you Orphan. You always find such interesting world events to share.
I thought it was interesting that they call the JWs "Jehovists".
Good for Russia for taking the steps they did.
