hey everyone,.
just a simple straight forward question on exactly what the process is.
if a gb member died tomorrow, do the remaining ones choose who gets to be next?.

So, they have to be already saying they're anointed then?! Wow, very slim pickings... and only from crazy people who think they'll rule from the heavens. Kinda explains why they have seven dumbasses onboard!
I wonder how many get to a position in New York and suddenly decide they are anointed...
Good question...are these newly annointed already GB helpers or are they related to someone with influence already?
When I say "with influence" I am thinking of someone like the Adams brothers...?
Divergent, are we looking at auditions when we see broadcasts from GB Helpers?
Divergent
If one dies, the replacement would most likely be a Governing Body helper. Many "annointed" among these ones...

The current GB appoints any new members. They're the very definition of self-appointed

good question, wondering if any newbies are being considered ?

Pretty much yes. Just like an elders meeting where they say "Billy's good but his wife's a fruitloop; how about Cecil?" "Yeah, he won't rock the boat - two thirds in favour? Aye!"
Except they don't have to ask the CO if it's OK!
That would be funny (well it actually is very funny) if it werent the exact truth about how it really happens~

I am guessing the whole thing is highly political but since they are such a rule and paperwork oriented bunch, I am assuming they have a procedure they follow?
have you ever been to a circus and seen a "clown car"?.
the little "bug" volkswagon drives out and clowns get out.
lots and lots and lots and lots of clowns!.
Terry you came up with things I never even thought of!
Wasnt there a scripture where someone said my name is Legion?"
it's great to see all the familiar posters as i've been reading for the last few hours.
still offering great advice and help.
awesome job.
after the worst introduction i could ever make on the forum i would like to reintroduce myself and make a fresh start on the forum and hopefully over time i will be able to redeem myself.
i have changed my user name which was over dramatic and ridiculous in the cold light of day but for transparency and to show i am not trying to hide anything i have adapted the original name and it now has a more positive feel.
after reading a lot of posts on this forum i am feeling more optimistic about my future.
do you think it is easier for an elder to wake up to the wtbts because of the position he is in which gives him access to info that the rank & file would not be privy to, or do you think it would be harder for him to wake up because of all the prestige/power/admiration he receives as a result of being an elder, or does it come down to something else entirely?.
I think it is easier for them to wake up but harder for them to leave.
Great thread Sabin.
