Good to see you - you little red dot you!
So lots of emotion in the moment but no real follow through by the Witnesses?
Sounds familiar...

hi.i am disfellowshipped and separated from my jehovahs witness wife and i am having custody problems with my 13 year old daughter.she has been advised by her mother that she does not have to listen to me and so she dictates to me when she comes to stay.it seems i have lost any fatherly authority and my ex wife has given my daughter the ability to go against my wishes in regards to custody arrangements.having grown up a witness i understand that even though a parent is disfellowshipped the child must still obey the biblical command to be obedient to there parents.it also teaches that the wife must support her ex husband in regards to parenting.i am trying to find any watchtower/awake articles that support this.in any case i would appreciate any links ,information or advice.. regards pat..
agnosticnow,
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your video above. It breaks my heart that you cant see your grandchildren.
I have to give you a lot of credit for trying so hard to be with your children and grandchildren. The world needs more dads like you.

This question has two answers I think.
The answer "in print" would be that you must have love and respect for your DFd parent. Normal family relationships remain.
The other answer that is not a quotable quote, is that a DFd parent is spiritually dead and in some undefined way "less".
Teenagers challenge authority and draw away from their parents a lot of times during the teen years.
With slight encouragement from the Witnesses it is easy to see how a 13 year old could seek their own counsel, so to speak.
You may need to address this through your lawyer depending on how things go but one thing is for certain...
you can make loads of fun for your daughter during your scheduled time together.
Fun movies, access to music she loves, her own space, just whatever she is interested in that is harmless and yet not easy to do in the Witness environment.
You didnt mention if you are hoping for a reconciliation from your separation or whether you are seeking reinstatement but naturally that would factor in to what you feel comfortable allowing your teen in your home.
My best to you, the teens years are interesting!

To be fair, the clapping was about seeing him again in the resurrection, not that he died. That doesn't negate the fact that everything they do is based on false reasoning, and that a child likely died when he didn't have to (don't know if blood would have truly saved him), but it seems a bit click-bait-y to link their clapping with his death rather than his resurrection.
Hi dub,
I like having your take on this. I get very angry and emotional when the blood issue and children comes up.
I want a clear perspective and I see your words as a good counterbalance.
Balance in all things, right?
The question still on the table (for me) is why wont the Org let parents know about that letter?

Several years back a Canadian ethics committee and a liaison committee sent by the Canadian Branch Bethel sat down and approved a letter that would allow JW parents to exercise their christian conscience while keeping the child protective services out of the situation.
This document is called "LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING" and the Society has already quietly allowed its use in the U.S. also.
I know of a case where it was used at Shands Teaching Hospital in Florida.
Yet and still, the Org is completely silent on letting parents know this "work around" exists.
To have a blood doctrine they believe so sincerely they live and die by it is one thing.
To have a blood doctrine they are quietly backing away from and NOT let parents know about this LOU (letter of understanding) is many times more cowardly and reprehensible then having a stupid interpretation of their religious belief on blood.

i was wondering why they ended the "bunker video" as they did ... with an armed militia finding the jws huddled in the corner of the basement ... fade to black.
the jws watching don't know what happened after that.
did they kill them?
In the old "Paradise" book it had a two page pictorial spread of people falling into gaping crevices and up to their chins in flood water.
It didnt show people at the bottom haven fallen or people floating having drowned. It showed them all in the act of terror, not in the aftermath.
That book was published in the mid 50s.
Thats a long time to be "a scarin" people.
this is what happened.
i had a sore tendon in my wrist.
i could work with it, but nevertheless the pain was there.

It's great to discuss these things without superstition.
It really is, isnt it?

I agree with you too Orphan lol!
I was sitting here reflecting on other examples of this phenomenon.
the "horse whisperers" would be one I think. Those amazing people who are able to cross the barrier and effectively communicate with animals (not just horses either).
Seaman who can tell you the weather that is coming MUCH more accurately than weathermen.
Then we have examples of animals that show amazing abilities to vacate an area before a storm and so on.
So much we dont know but can still appreciate and benefit from.
this is what happened.

You remember the story of Jesus healing the woman with the flow of blood? The story begins with him feeling an energy drain when she touched him. An anemic woman would naturally be low in vital energy.
There is an entire school of thought that energy flows like electricity. From higher to lower, stronger to weaker etc.
The example above is just one most of us are familiar with. Many secular and other religious resources report similar stories.
So what if the question is not "does it exist" (energy moving from one source to another)
but "what is the source"?
I personally think it is a simple part of the natural world. Just like barometric pressure and tides and so on.
Some people seem to have more energy naturally, just like some people can sing or excel at math or art. IF they have this abundance of energy and IF they are aware of it, then what is the harm if that energy is transferred in a way that creates extra blood flow (healing) to someones wrist?
The idea that there are unseen forces that can tap in to this and use it to manipulate humans is really a separate topic in my opinion.
The world has always had healers. That is the plain and simple of it. Many times it gets tied to religion like many other things that cant be explained.
That doesnt mean it should be though, in the interest of accuracy.
There is also the placebo effect that OrphanCrow mentioned above. Papers have been written on many cures effected this way. The brain is a powerful thing, as is our natural world that we have such limited knowledge of.
I think you can relax and enjoy your wrist feeling better with no side effects! Hooray!
and a happy birthday to anybody else who born on the 5/7 month.
smiddy.
Happy Birthday to the awesome Smddy!
