For me, I left because when I became aware of inept and corrupt elders and the leadership in New York failed to effectively address the matter. They wouldnt address it at all in fact.
I would probably not have left over the elders actions alone, it was seeing that no one is really concerned about what goes on, so much as they are just concerned with keeping the machine running.
That started me looking at the "machine" itself and well..........
I can only compare it to the wizard of Oz. In order to keep publishers in place, they must keep them from peeking behind the curtain like I did.
As for why they exist, people would love it if they could just hand over the big questions of life. Go to a few meetings a week, put some money in a box and bam! You are guaranteed God likes you AND all that goes with that...not the least of which is living forever someday in a better world.
On the surface, that seems a fair exchange and easier than picking your own path through life with no guaranteed outcomes.
As long as you dont scratch the veneer and see below the surface, it can still work for some.

An Active JW Sister Modelling For Me

two of which are life drawing and photography.
i've been studying for almost two years now and have seen more nude men and women in our classes than i care to remember.. today in the photography studio i was working in with three others (two women, one man) we were told we had a new person modelling for us.

for general information i am now 19 years old, and living by myself.
for the past 1 year (more like 1.5 years) i have been quietly fading out of the hypocrisy of this organization, but since i still live in the town i grew up in it has been hard, and filled with different challenges.

Right out of the gate the woman brought up 1975 and said they had "one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake" with that teaching.
However this goes, nice that she got that out there.
Dr Phil doesnt really know the correct pronunciation and keeps using the title "Jehovah Witness" to signify the group (plural).

by stuckinarut2 inso as we all know, the australian royal commission has it on record that a "child safegaurding policy" document was produced hurriedly at the tail end of the australian royal commission.. the commission was told by the society representatives that this would be "freely available to all congregants and interested people".. the commission quizzed the brothers as to whether it would "be freely handed out, or simply handed to those who requested it".
either way, it was to be freely available.. so imagine the surprise of one our fellow faders who attended a kh yesterday to ask for a copy!.
she politely and respectfully asked the brother at the door for a copy.
