Nice that they felt free to throw in some Mendelssohn there in the Kingdom Hall.
That would have never been allowed just a few years ago.
just when you think you've seen it all comes another interesting use of a kingdom hall.a young man serenades his girlfriend with a song (possibly a watchtower song) from the stage through a microphone and backed by recorded music.
then he steps off the stage and gets down on one knee and proposes as he pulls out a ring from his coat pocket.
the large projector screen flashes up behind them with a picture of a sapphire and diamond ring.cameras capture the joyous moment as she accepts and they lock together in a loving hug.
Nice that they felt free to throw in some Mendelssohn there in the Kingdom Hall.

i have yet to read about the contradictions in the jw teachings on blood, but i have personally witnessed one.
i am a medical professional and have seen hemopure administered for an active jw who did refuse a blood transfusion.
its not fda approved here, but given in special life saving circumstances.
OrphanCrow
The WT's HIS direct JW patients into clinical trials for blood substitutes. And, when the trials are halted, and that blood product is sitting in "unapproved" status, the JWs come in handy in keeping that product in production as a "compassionate use" drug. "Refusal of blood for religious reasons" is the catch phrase that keeps Hemopure on the market. The JW patient is quite valuable to the companies that develop blood alternatives.
JWs have been guinea pigs for products such as Fluosol-Da and Hemopure, etc
By the way, did you know that Hemopure is basically the same as Oxygent, the blood substitute that has been approved for veterinarian use? The JW patient gets blood that is used for dogs. The JW patient is the next step up from animal testing.
That is a very powerful (and disgusting) point coming from the organization who calls itself so clean and pure isnt it?
Thank you for sharing that. I can use that with my family.

Intact red blood cells are forbidden
Polymerized hemoglobin preparations are permitted regardless of the source of the hemoglobin.
Thanks for the information. So what is it about "polymerizing" that nakes the red blood cell no longer intact?
I am trying to understand how the Org justifies and reasons on this.
in case you're not aware of my last two threads:.
the situation that arose in that my mother has been having secret access to my daughter and refusing to tell me how she is: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5012900121935872/am-overreacting-here.
the build up to my solicitors visit: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6284953638666240/solicitors-appontment-tomorrow-advice-appreciated.
Good work Pale!
You never were over reacting. You were reacting.
There will be many times in life you have to be your daughters advocate in one way or another. You have shown yourself more than equal to the task!
i’m told that facebook has lost its luster.
twitter is pretty popular as well as snapchat and others.. which type is your favorite to use?.
Instagram!
hi friends one and all i just thought i would let you know it`s our 57th wedding anniversary today .
and we are setting off this morning for 3 nights in eden nsw i think it has more to offer than the one in genesis.. with a bit { or a lot } of luck we will make our fortune .
have a good day everybody.
Happy Anniversary to you both!
i used to pretty much believe anything they would report.
now, though, i find myself questioning “journalists “, with the realization that much of what is said may be inaccurate or slanted..
I had a friend that used to subscribe to several European newspapers and one from the Arab world.
The news about America was very different than what was being shown on our TVs and in our newspapers.
That was the first time it even occurred to me that news could be agenda or advertiser driven.
have you ever heard some brothers own ideas and opinions spouted from the platform?
perhaps off brand or crazy ones?
some that i've heard is:.
"True Christians should not wear jeans"
"If your jacket is wrinkled at the meeting, that is like bringing Jehovah your crippled animals for sacrifice."
"If a sisters skirt is short, she is inviting rapists or worse!"
This all from a short old elder with bug eyes and a comb over.
Hysterically funny now, looking back.
Im sure "Tight pants Tony" is his hero these days.
i've had an email from a sister who tells me that out in field service this morning a long standing route call has told them she won't be taking any more magazines and doesn't want them calling on her again because she has heard about the jws child abuse scandals and cover ups.
she was quite angry with them and said your elders say there is nothing wrong but there is and it will all come out.. this is the first time anyone i know of has been challenged on the doorstep and they were absolutely shocked and also angry.
angry that the organization is not preparing them for dealing with this and for not being honest with the brothers about what is going on ie: lawsuits etc.. just thought i'd share that with you..
Phoebe I think this is awesome!
I will be checking back on this thread to see what happens next!
please help me understand this.
over the years i have seen and have heard of many who have changed congregation due to the 'lack of love' shown in their own.
you then hear many condemning such ones as 'having a problem' and 'taking their problems with them'.
IMHO, you are not alone and you are picking up on a very real and unnatural climate in the Kingdom Hall.
You will never get a true reading on how much of what you sense is wrong with the folks in the Kingdom Hall is you and how much is them. The environment is just too forced and unnatural.
To me, the "love" is performance based.
The more you do (according to predetermined JW standards) the more deserving you are of "love" which is really not love but a conditioned approval response.
Its complicated isnt it? Thats what high control groups do...they legislate and re direct natural emotions and actions.
I wonder if you might like volunteering with a group that cares for animals? A shelter of some sort?
When I get too weary of people and their shenanigans, I find that animals refresh my soul. They have no agenda and need what we have to offer.
