last wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.
she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.
her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.

today, it will be 90 degrees and humid!
this morning i’ll be playing tennis again.
while most people have been holed up in their houses, i have regularly played the sport outside.
I might briefly if I was in a crowded city with a lot of active cases and riding mass transport. A subway, bus or plane.
I won't be wearing it outdoors in the air and sunshine.
We are hearing a lot about the benefits about wearing a mask but we are hearing little about the negative effects of re-breathing (what happens in a mask).
Masks are underwear for the face.
stay in period.
get deliveries of necessities so you dont go to store.
no contact except phone.
If they had said "Get out in the sun and move your body! Eat a balanced diet. Be cautious about large groups of people . Take advantage of technology (the internet, libraries on line, Audible etc) to improve your mind, learn a new hobby and so on, I would have thought they were on to something or at least taking the cream of the good advice that is to be had and regurgitating it.
But alas, no.
They, as usual, are a step behind.

is it me who thinks this.......jw pimi or pomi women lack natural affection toward there children, family and human's.. it must be the indoctrination that strips these emotions.
i see it in my wife all the time, when she talks with non jw people she is like "meh" i got to talk with you.. when she talks with jw people, she has a cult emotion like "yes my people" .
she is screwed in the head, the more that time goes by i want to leave her and get a divorce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it is still there just being suppressed by constant indoctrination.
See if you can use this down time to tempt her away from zoom......make friends for yourself by means of unrighteous riches, use chocolate! Wine! Foot rubs! Whatever works for her!

i have been thinking about the legal departments that look after the wts interests around the world.i can`t believe these legal eagles offer their services on a voluntary basis like the r&f do.and i don`t believe their services would come cheap.. as an organization the size of jw.org and its offshoots of companys and interests around the world ,the cost of keeping them gainfully employed must amount to a considerable sum of money.. especially the law suits against them with child abuse court cases that arise on a regular basis ,and the government inquiry`s into the jw religion that is happening in different countries now.. all paid for by the voluntary contributions that come from the r&f for the worldwide preaching work .. contributions to pay for the wt organization`s legal department to defend themselves in court ?.
did jesus and the apostles pay lawyers to defend them in a court of law with funds donated by their supporters ?.
When we look at the legal representation they used in Australia to defend themselves it was a mixture, wasn't it?
I remember a youngish blond woman who was from a JW elite family and allowed to go to law school but she was part of a team and not on her own if I remember correctly.

Wasnt there an "all call" in a letter from headquarters about 10 years ago asking for certain skill sets at Bethel?
Seems like paralegals and lawyers were on the list. Puzzling when you think about how the flock are only supposed to achieve a technical school education.
when i was looking at prepping back in the 90s i was told by several elders that we needed to just rely on the org and jehovah and not prep.
i started to put away vacuum sealed bags of rice beans and spices anyway.
now they have this go bag crap.

i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.
nothing was more important than being at the meetings!
over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.
I think it has to do with several reasons.
Two things come to mind. One is the fact that meeting attendance is shrinking and they want to hide that. So the meeting compressing and congregation shuffling shell game has commenced.
Also, there is a lot of expense in maintaining buildings for meetings. If people will just go online for their "spiritual feeding" and download and print their own literature AND STILL DONATE, that is a better system for the org.
Perhaps the pandemic will help them to move in that direction without being so obvious that it is their intention all along.
