  My thought is the election system in the U.S. has gotten very sloppy. I dont think thats a new thing. Now, its just being looked at really hard for a lot of reasons.

  I would imagine some poll workers have to be shocked to see the loosey goosey way they have always done things being challenged.

  Too bad the IRS cant be in charge of this. You can run a tiny one employee business in podunk USA and they will make sure you pay your share of employer tax and watch it like a hawk. Wasnt it Willie Nelson who had to hide his guitar from them when they went after him? They have you by the short hairs called your EIN and your SS numbers.

  The Secretary of State from Pennsylvania is on TV now saying people have to "sign" to vote and that the poll workers (volunteers)are very "dedicated" and "serious".

  So nothing about positive fail-proof IDs. No vetting. No real security systems in place at all. Its a circus.

  What's the Latest re How JW's are Associating and Preaching?

  i've been out of the loop for a while so some things have passed me by.

  so i'm curious how jw's are affected by the covid virus.

  are they still preaching or having meetings etc?.

  Are they actively pushing Covid as a sign that the End is Near ( again ) ?

  Here where I am, they are being uncharacteristically quiet about Covid.

  It almost seems as though they would rather not have another failed "end timer" escapade that people can point to, so they are being very low key about the virus aspect. There is some hype about the political angle in as much as they are talking more about the king of the north and king of the south. By talking, I mean the JWs are talking amongst themselves about it. I have no idea if they are getting it from headquarters or from Circuit Overseers or just manufacturing it locally. It's gotta be a boring time for "true believers".

  Being Removed From Facebook and Twitter

  i have a very good friend who has been banned from facebook simply because he makes remarks positive about president trump and negative toward the democratic party.

  he has tried to get back on facebook and it appears there is no way for him to return.

  people are being removed from social media platforms simply because they have a different political view.

  yup - person has done nothing wrong.

  but they have called a judicial and from what i can tell refusing to wear a facemask is bothering them more than the person not turning up.. so is this new light?

  if you have been called to a judical please remember to stay safe and wear your personal protective equimpment.

  It looks like the elders are gearing up to do just that silentbuddha.

  At first I thought this was a case of someone running around the community refusing to wear a mask, perhaps getting citations or arrested and the elders stepping WAY out of their jurisdiction (which let's face it, is all make believe anyhow) to try to legislate what is for now simply a "mandate" in some communities.

  Turns out, there is more to the story.

  Now it seems like the clearer picture is the authority the elders feel they have.

  The mask is just adding fuel to the fire that this person is "non compliant"

  This individual should find a creative alternative such as

  1) wear a mask

  2) demand a zoom meeting

  3) or perhaps a 6 foot apart or outdoor meeting

  Unless the individual offers reasonable alternatives - he runs the risk of looking, well..... unreasonable.

  i am a baptist christian, a student at seminary and i need to conduct an interview.

  i recently moved cities and the great folks that i used to chat to from my local jehovah's witness congregation are not in contact any longer.

  JWs are usually programmed to discuss their beliefs freely.

  Maybe you could call the local Kingdom Hall number and explain what you said above. They will probably provide an elder or a pioneer who would be thrilled to skype with you.

  they have recently made several pod casts, featuring themselves pontificating on a range of subjects - blm, 'structural racism', the environment, etc.. while they're free to make whatever content they wish, it does seem ridiculous.. why should i treat harry or meghan seriously?.

  There is a reason people are calling him "Handbag Harry".

  He has become an accessory at this point.

  Ms Markle is a hot mess and probably the best thing that could happen going forward, is she finds a Russian Oligarch to take flight with and let Harry crawl back to his family where the Monarchy's PR machine can begin a campaign to revive his image.

  I predict in 10 years Harry will be living in Africa with a suitable European wife and carving out a wonderful life there in Africa, a place he appears very drawn to.
