Ten years out.....
by snare&racket ini'm not sure how useful this post will be, but i feel compelled to write it.
with many of my older posts, i wrote them with a younger jw version of me in mind.
with this i write it with a younger newly ex jw in mind.. ten years ago i went to my presiding overseer and told him my concerns about wt owning 'rand cam' military stocks, about unfulfilled prophecy and human error in the governing body and the theocratic consequences of such.

My meeting yesterday
by stephanie61092 inso i just wanted to jot down some thoughts and feelings about my meeting yesterday.... first, the wt, paragraph 16. i couldn't help but laugh to myself at the blatant hypocrisy.
god’s word admonishes us “to live with soundness of mind ... amid this present system of things.” (titus 2:12) having “soundness of mind,” or being sober-minded, should certainly come into play when the explanation of a diagnostic method or therapy seems strange or mysterious.
can the practitioner or the one promoting it explain satisfactorily how it works?

What's the point?
by punkofnice ini mean, i don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?.
since i left the watchtower cult, i have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...and if a god exists...god is indifferent to humankind as the least.. in 100 years time i'll be gone.

When I came here I was full of despair. I didnt really know what to do or how to go on.
YOU were so very kind to me. And you didnt know it but you made me laugh. Your tongue in cheek way of poking fun at yourself and at life made me think maybe I could get back to feeling that way someday myself.

Got in a bad wreck.....uuugh

I guess the whole intent was to look for someone who wants to be "of service" to others and willing to do the humble job.
That is the Watchtower idea of the ideal couple.
However, mass producing a video telling everyone "these are the marriage rules" means anyone can handle a few trashbags to snare br or sr "right". Now it is no longer an act of voluntary service, its a mating ritual.
I am SO offended by this ! I need to calm down LOL!!!

What TV shows were forbidden in your JW household?
by Funchback inin the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..
