There is an American saying,
"With friends like that, who needs enemies?"
i never understood why many jehovah’s witnesses will say “the friends”.
it seems so mormon like..

since me and my siblings had to go to service every saturday, and i mean every saturday, i missed out on something so normal as watching good ole saturday morning cartoons from the 70's and 80's.
i remember wishing i could stay home just one saturday so i could watch cartoons.
but noooo we had to go save lives!
I remember a play at school. It was Little Women. I auditioned and got a part. Couldnt do it however because the play was on a Tuesday night at our school and of course that was sacred bookstudy night, right?
why did jesus supposedly cast the demons into a herd of pigs?.
(matt 8 / luke 8).
and, how were there so many demons inside one man, that when "released" by jesus, it took a whole pack of pigs to contain them??.
Love your comments David Jay!
Stick around, please.
i've done a good deal of posting in my brief 24 hours here so far, figured i might as well provide a slightly more in depth narrative.

Love your take on things. Glad you are here!
i recently had to accompany an older family member out of state to a family reunion.
it was a big reunion and not much was overtly made of the fact that i am "misguided" and not attending meetings (lost soul that i am) which was nice.
the thing i noticed that i was most struck by was all the dietary quirks in evidence during our 3 days together.

millie, I gave freddo a down vote on each of his posts because I considered them offensive and insensitive.
Thank you for stepping forward Sparky, I appreciate your telling me. When someone just hits dislike I am never sure what it even means so now I can understand where you are coming from.

Cofty your video reminds me of that saying "Many a truth is said in jest".
Very funny.

I could never understand all the sisters who wanted to have the COs for dinner except in the case of aspiring types who wanted their husband to be an elder and wanted the CO to put in a good word.
I wish I had been not so easily pressured in to having C.O.s over, I still remember the C.O.s wife who dug through my trash before lunch looking for the salad dressing seasoning packet I had used to make dressing with.
She wanted to find out if it contained msg or some such thing. I offered her lemon or vinegar and oil to dress her salad but no.......she had to root around in the trash.
I kid you not.
Good for you for skipping the whole thing!

We had a CO that wouldn't eat "foreign" food. Make of that what you will.
Thats pretty funny. I guess it never dawned on him that anywhere you go the food from where you previously were is now "foreign" huh?
why in the hell would we (men) have one less rib...help me folks the adam and eve story has screwed up my thinking...
Always wanted to see if I could add a picture and now I have.

It's interesting. In my jw side of the family there are both. Some are all organic, no gluten, no dies, no chemicals, no vaccines, no medications, and no doctors (some of them no dr. even during childbirth). They don't avoid these items due to allergies. It's more of a distrust of worldly drs and food companies. Others from the same family love junk food. Lots of soda, sugar, white flour, booze, and lots of meds from doctors.
Im curious, do you see a difference in how they perceive themselves as spiritual people? Is one side more part of the leadership than the other or another question, does one side seem more superstitious than the other?
