BTW my husband, seeing the hypocrisy, sent another official DA letter just to make sure they got the point that you should not pit a husband against his wife and get away with it!

Who shuns you?
by Dawn inafter reading a number of posts it sounds like most of you have been shunned even by your immediate family members (parents, brothers, sisters)after you were df'd.. i am shunned by my sister-in-law - but she's it out of the entire family.
my uncle, brothers, mother, and father (an elder before he passed away) all continued to associate with me - we even go out to dinners together.. so here's my question - is my family the minority?
i thought that only non-family members had to shun you but family was ok as long as they don't discuss spiritual issues.

I DA'd in February. And of that moment, all in the congregation began shunning me (except for a DF'd one). They also cut off all contacts with my children, none of which are baptised. All were told that it was still ok to associate with my husband who was inactive at the time and who had sent a letter of resignation two years before but because of a technicallity, had not been announced! Even my 7 yr old has been shunned by his best friend and can no longer play with him.
I send emails to those who were my 'best' friends for the last 15 yrs but never get any response. -

Or if I hear a talk of how Jesus redeemed us,etc. I go at it again. It is awfully embarassing - especially in the 'apostate' church with strangers around. Is this normal? Should i be getting a red and yellow pill? Does that wear off? Did anyone go through that? I never cried at the Kingdom Hall!!!

Who will go to heaven?
by misty ini know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.
but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.
he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

Sorry, Rhett: I had to come back for a short rebuttal on this:
Following a book that's thousands of years old
that you yourself admit has errors simply because you want to is not a way to do thatI have never said or admitted that there are errors in the Holy Bible. I have said that I DO NOT find any errors - even when I go back and try to see it your way. I only see that one verse following another is not indicative of chronology. As is also with prophecy, sometimes you will find one verse as a summary, then it will explain from the begin the events. Or, else, they will be found in another book altogether - not making them a different event, just an explained event or series of events by another person.
And, I also do not share your belief that 'faithfullness' equals 'stupidity'. But I sense that you must have had harder blows than me in your life to turn away from Him. I will pray for you (I know you feel you do not need it and that I certainly do!) Hey no law against 'stupid' ones praying for 'smarter' ones, right? -

Thank you
You are quite welcomed! I have considered it a pleasure and certainly learned a lot. But I think you are a bit disrespectful to your elders! But, ok considering the context. Please forgive me for my 'faithfulness'.

My experience at the Memorial...
by Richie inthe memorial was held last night at a community center about 15 km away from the kingdom hall.
as a df'd person, i always feel more uncomfortable if the memorial is held at a location other than the regular kh, as i would otherwise know my way around where to sit in obscurity, as well as arriving just as the meeting is about to start.. well, i decided to come a little bit earlier (although not too early) - then walked inside the community center and suddenly i was standing in front of the wide entrance where practically everyone was gathered in order to get a perfect view of who were entering the hall.
needless to say, i felt like an alien, someone who did not exist at all, yet when i gazed into the eyes of many of the ones i know, i noticed that they were secretly looking at me and then quickly turned their heads away from me.

Richie: Don't worry about my son disclosing anything. He cannot since he doesn't know anything. He has not talked to that 'friend' since or before then. They will not be allowed to spend any time together in any case. This is N.. she is not returning any of my emails.
I have tried contacting V... because once since my DA she sent me an update by mistake and then sent me an 'oops' saying that she missed 'the Misty she used to know'. I tried emailing back but of course have never heard anything since.I still email N. and B. etc but never hear back. But I figure that even if they shun me, my loyalty as a friend has never depended on a handful of men. So why should I listen and stop talking to them. So periodically I send them news of how we are doing - only the kosher news of course.
As far as proving that you do your WT homework, maybe just a couple of highlighters and colour up some stuff, scribble a few things in the margins and just pop it up when you enter the KH so they can see. That should keep them quiet - until they give you the green light. Then I doubt that they will insist on it since you will become a royal pain in the butt if you keep doing this everytime you see them! And they cannot prove that you read your Bible or not, especially since you are quite familiar with it. I have a collection of the ministry school stuff for the year, you are welcome to it, if it can help.

I must be looking at the Good Book with rose coloured glasses because I still can't find anything so wrong. One has to look at the bigger picture. Not just the verses word for word. But I know that you think I am biased, as all the true believers. But my bottom line is still "let God be found true, though every man a liar." If I don't understand something, I attribute it to my finite thinking, not an error on his part, and the fact that He is the only one who has the complete and true picture, we are dust. "His ways are higher than ours". Otherwise why the need for faith? why even have a word for 'faith'? (no, I did not say 'blind credulity')
At this point, I can see you lift your hands up and shake your head, right? -

How do you get that quote right in the middle of your replies like that?
And, thanks, I will check out those sites, it sounds amazing.
I'll get back to you on this wrong stuff. I am still thinking. For the rapture, when I am grabbed to go up there, I won't have to tell God anything, since if you have heard of the Great White Throne Judgement, you will get to tell Him yourself. Since all those who stay behind from the rapture will probably have to face Him then, I will be watching with interest. (Or is it that you will get to face up when Christ comes at His second coming? That comes first, right? Yeah, that is it!?) -

New To The Board
by MarchOn ini should clarify, i am new at posting, not new to the board.. i've been checking in for a short time now.
"spying", "lurking", whatever you would like to call it.
but i thought it was time to come out of the "first closet" i've been in for more than 20 years.

Hello marchon!
You will find all kinds here, Some new like us, some a lot more experienced. Some still believe and some lost all belief, but mostly most know how you feel. Most of us felt that we were alone, and could not talk to anyone for fear of being an apostate.
Welcome home.
