Why do Jehovahs Witnesses send their mentally ill door to door?
by life is to short inthis has been a question i have asked over and over even when i was a very devout jw.
please do not get me wrong in thinking that i am trying to be mean or cruel or unkind to those who have mental illness, that is not in the least where i am going with this.
what i mean is i think it is cruel to send them door to door, it puts way to much stress on them and it looks bad for the name jehovah.. it seemed that in every hall i have ever been in there were some people who were extremely mentally ill. there have always been some in every hall who were schizophrenics or suffered major depression, or other forms of mental illness.

Define which standard you hold your moral and ethic code to ? Or to which God holds you to. If neither then no sin. peaceKes152 paulnotsaul

philippians 2:10 that at the name of jesus every knee should bow.

The deity of christ was a hard one. If you believe God can do or be anything then it makes sense. We serve a limitless God. So why do we put limitations on what God is capable of being or doing? peaceAll paulnotsaul

Terry, good connection. At church today the epistle lesson was Romans 11: 1-2, 29-36. Something about verse 36 got me thinking. So I went home an read it in the NWT. They changed it! Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but read it for yourself to see how they changed it. KJV reads: For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. The NWT reads: Because from him and by him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen. What do you think? peacetoall paulnotsaul

Along with what Refriedtruth was saying, before my eyes were opened, I couldn't understand with the big A just around the corner why were they building/buying all these KH/properties. As true christians shoudn't they have keep it simple. You know, meet in homes or gather in public places for free. Seems like alot of money spent on something thats not supposed to last. Hypocrites. peaceall paulnotsaul

I have not offically joined but my wife, kids, and I attend the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I was drawn to this church because its non-judgemental. The bible is their only creed. No doctrines. They believe its the personal responibility of each person to read and interpret the scriptures for yourself thus creating a personal faith and relationship with the Lord. Communion is OPEN TO ALL who believe in Jesus as the Christ on every sunday. It was really strange but I felt such peace there. My first time there I went with my son. It was Jan. 23, this year. We both took communion. After 40 yrs. being denied the emblems. My son and I partook. Very emotional experience. The congregation welcomed us. Friendly but not overdone. The pastor is an older women. I felt like for the first time I understood what being a christian was all about. LOVE each other, EVERYONE. No more judging. Totally the opposite of my JW CULT teachings. PEACETOALL paulnotsaul
