They don't need to hack, thusly, nothing illegal, when someone leaves it wide open. I just talked to Bill on the phone, supposedly the ban is being lifted, but as of this post, I'm still banned.

i discovered a major security flaw on the silentlambs website, i e-mailed bill about it, setup up a small demonstration, mind you i told no one else about this.
and the demonstration was benine, because this flaw could allow someone to forward the site to say porn sights.
i won't go into detail, but let's just say i could cause alot of havoc with it.

this isn't about the running of silentlambs.org.
this is about the people themselves who have been abused.
this is from someone who has never suffered from abuse, who is trying to understand the needs of those who have.. how can those who have not been abused help those of us here who have, and what can we do that would be really useful to those persons?.
This "lamb" is currently be censored by Bill Bowen.

but it is never considered OK to alter or deface a web site
I did neither of these things. I modified none of the website. I didn't hack the site, or did you not read what I said? That would require hacking the site.
and I don't think it helps to bring in extraneous technical/hosting issues. It had nothing to do with a technical/hosting issue, the issue, was I was banned at the server level from the site. I hosted his goddamn videos, used my goddamn bandwidth, to host those f&^^%ing videos, and this is the way he treats me? I won't kick your ass, but you can kiss mine.

They're using a back end php script, the safest thing for them to do would have been to add a simple filter, that changed the <> symbols, no one would be able to post raw html.

I dunno, I think the best approach is to fix it, I told him how it could be fixed. It's simple, it just a serverside script, takes two lines of code.

sounds like a threat.
No it's called a comparison, I didn't do that, nor would I, I pointed out the potential for something like that in the e-mail, with someone that would be malicious.

Kismet, abviously you don't have a clue, I hacked nothing. It wasn't a matter of hacking the sight, it's called a security flaw, basically the entire section is open to anyone to post HTML code, and I'm not the first, I simply pointed out where the problem was to him in e-mail, a 5 year old that has any basic concept of HTML can do this. So NO I didn't not hack the site. I pointed out the potential for the problem, instead of having it fixed, I was banned. Had I been malicious about it, I could have the entire site going some place like a porn site, so yes I did him a favor. What do you think the WTBS would do with the knowledge I possess?
SLOAN - He attacked me first, I'm just a lowly ex-jw, not good enough to admin a website, he better tell e-bay that, that just contacted me about a job.
Edited to add:
Just called him, he wasn't there when I called, I assumed I talked to his wife, and he's still in town, waiting on a call back from him.

by that i mean from the platform at the kingdumb hall?
i remember some study conductors who had the habit of calling on people in the audience that seemed distracted or unprepared--on purpose so as to embarass them.
some were so out of it when the mic was handed to them they had to ask what was the question, why did you call on me i didnt have my hand up, etc.
Ya, everytime I had to give a talk.

Who knows, I'm lucky, if I get a response from bill in e-mail.

No they had to ban me by my domain, so they banned my entire domain, I tried on other computers in my house, that have different IP's.
