Feet and Toes Research and Noo Lite

this has been discussed in the district convention thread but i felt like all the "toes" info would be nice to see in one place.

[from the late 1950s through most of the 1970s the toes of the image meant all coexisting powers and governments at the time of the end].

Thank you Mad Sweeney! Thank you! I am not crazy after all! When my 12 year old son called me and told me about this "new light" and begged me to find a convention to attend, I thought to myself, that's what we believed about the feet when I was 12 years old! I did not take the time to find the material.

This is clear example of a flip-flop. Most in attendance were probably not around in 1978 and have no idea this a flip-flop. It is a lame attempt to keep the "end of the world" pressure on keep the masses calling on not at homes for another year. Wow.

This convention blows

seriously, half day in (already had an argument with the wife this morning about individuality in the organization in which she conceded that a lot of it is based on looks) and this is already getting on my nerves.

i'll post a rebuttal based on my annotations later in the week but one thing i got to get off my mind: saying the feminist movement (women going to work instead of staying home) and the diversity laws (allowing for homosexuality - but also religious freedom, racial discrimination etc.

) caused a lot of the problems in our world right from the stage.. there are less people here than last year - about 500 less..

Godrulz, I am new to this board. It was recommended as a place to get support for exJWs. I have read all of your posts and I must ask, just what is your purpose? Are you here to support or recruit? Are you here to comfort or pontificate? I fully believe we all have the right to express what we believe, that is why we left the WTS. But I have to tell you, if this board functioned like Facebook, your posts would have been hidden by now. You are not comforting or supportive at all.

PROTESTS AT WATCHTOWER CONVENTIONS

as you may know, the watchtower society takes great pride in its district conventions.

please contact me if you can attend any of these protests.. there is no reason why every district convention in the world could not have a protest and receive media coverage to expose the watchtower society.

The ability to express our own views and live our own lives is one reason we all left the JWs. If Lawrence wants to protest I applaud his drive and and his enthusiasm. If others want to remain discreet about their decision to leave I respect that too. There is no wrong way to move on. Just another way.

Let US on this board not become the very thing we have left behind, self-righteous hypocrites who believe what we think is right and that everyone else is wrong.

Did you REALLY like the music played at meetings? Did people in your cong. seem to like them?

i couldn't stand it.

never heard any of it played live, which i imagine would be much better, but still... i find it annoying.

for people who like that type of music, i guess it was good.

The music is not my personal favorite, I prefer anything with a BASS GUITER, A 4-4 beat and some improvisation. However I must admit inner city witnesses sing with a lot more heart than suburban or rural witnesses. The singing in most congregations make an already difficult musical piece sound HORRIBLE!

I was always a closte GOSPEL music lover anyway.

Patterson Bethelites and Reassignment

i grew up in a family of jw's, i was never baptized.

i have two brothers who are elders, one is a bethelite in patterson.

The current status at Bethel is that no one is "safe" and that anyone can be "re-assigned" at any time for any reason. The sad part is that you are not always sent out to special pioneer which means that you are still receving a stipend. Some are sent out to regular pioneer which means you are on you own.

Construction, Engineering and any other skills that require special training are being farmed out so that the Bethelite is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Your brother should be concerned and he should be proactive. It might be better for him to leave on his own terms. I did and it was for the best.

Stuck in a movement - WOW!!!

I served as an elder for 15 years in many prominent positions and was a speaker at Circuit Overseer and District Conventions and taught at Elder's schools. My reasons for resigning and becoming inactive are the same. It was actually chilling to read your letter. I felt like someone was reading my mind!

As a former member of the Hospital Liason Committee, I would break out the stand on blood and ask a question that no one will answer for me. How is it violation of Scripture to donate blood or store your own blood in advance, but not a violation to harvest so-called "fractions" (the fractions "allowed" are getting bigger) FROM THE DONATEDBLOOD OF OTHER PEOPLE!!! Is this not the height of hypocrisy?

I could not stomach the HLC and had to quit. I felt like a fraud and liar and many doctors asked me this question and all I do was say "I don't know."

My uncle who is an Elder has been warned not to ''talk or meet grandson''.

my cousin( who was disfellowshipped many years ago) told me that he cannot speak to or come over to his grandfather's any longer.. he would stop by every month or so just to see his grandfather and grandmother.

they are both in their 80's and not in the best of health.. my uncle who is still serving as an elder would talk to his grandson only when his grandson would visit his house.

well,someone found out and snitched on my uncle.

My departure from the JWs in January 2011 put me in serious financial hardship. My family and friends abandoned me and even though I am not disfellowshipped they treat me like I am. I contacted my best friend, an ex-elder, who is disfellowshipped. He loaned me money, which I promptly paid back once I got work. He put me in touch with a friend of his who helped me get car and just last week he put me in touch with another friend of his who helped me get a beautiful house.

Who proved to be MY neighbor and REAL brother?

my take on this weekends Assembly

wow and so many are excited about us killing so many trees to repeat the same thing over and over again.

i need to vent a bit and could easily get on to many issues of wtbts and its goober body.

This summer I will be missing the District Convention for the first time in 38 years. My 12 year old son went with his mother. He called me up and was able to give me the highlights of a three day program in five mintues! On the one hand I was impressed that he was able to grasp what he heard and only share with me what he considered to be "new light". On the other hand, I marveled at how "dumbed down" the presentations have become and yet how enthusiastic folks are about attending.

I am really glad that I am not going. I just can't fake it anymore.

reading a life time of WT literatrash = College education

or at least that's what my super jw ex-roommate told me when i try to have an adult discussion w her about the importance of a higher education... according to her (a girl that never finished hs because it was not necessary) she has a better education than any college graduate because the jehovah has used the borg literatrash to teach her many many important things.... she says her knowledge of the "truth" is the equivalent of my 4 years of college education..... .

To please my parents and the elders, I turned down a college scholarship to work at Watchtower facilities for 10 years. As NC mentioned, like a lot young Witnesses back in the 1980s, I went to a vocational high school, and I took a trade. When I left Watchtower Headquarters I worked in a trade and did well, but was unable to make maximum dollar until I started going to college. I was raised to think college was a waste of time but I quickly found out how far behind my contemparies I was and why. I did not know how to ANALYZE business problems and think CRITICALLY. I had a limited vocabulary and no BUSINESS PROCESS for getting tasks done.

I found out that I did not know as much as I thought I did. Only after going to college did discover how ignorant I was.

Now I have successful career in management and I am on track to being an executive with a major corporation.

A college education is absolutely necessary to make it in this world. Now I am fighting to make sure my son avoids the path I took and gets his college eduction before he is 38 years old!
