It's a great read Violia. The story is riveting. I know people that couldn't put it down, until they completed it after a few days.

Rutherford in the WT PROMOTED a book inspired by a demon but agrees Book of Enoch
by EndofMysteries inthe book, angels and women, published in 1924. .
i will give the information about 'that' aspect of it in a moment.
what i think is more important first though, the 'original' book was called ("seola").

Here's a few interesting passages from Enoch1, chapter LXXIX:
"In the days of sinners the years shall be shortened."
"The moon shall change its laws, and not be seen at its proper period."
"Heaven shall shine more than when illuminated by the orders of light."
What I take from these three passages is that the human life span will be reduced, the moon will be in a different position and the sun will appear brighter after the flood. Are these inspired? Who can say?
Here's a passage from the Haggada-Legends of the Jews by Louis Ginzberg:
"The flood was produced by a union of the male waters, which are above the firmament, and the female waters issuing from the earth. The upper waters rushed through the space left when God removed two stars out of the constellation Pleiades. Afterward, to put a stop to the flood, God had to transfer two stars from the constellation of the Bear to the constellation of the Pleiades. That is why the Bear runs after the Pleiades. She wants her two children back, but they will be restored to her only in the future world."
Removed stars from the heavens sounds just like Seola's lost Wan Planet. Smith probably read the Haggada and added her own flavor to the novel.
Here's one of the sci-fi portions that was taken out of Angels and Women:
"As I look forth into the night, the answer is given. The storm is over; the stars are silently climbing the eastern heavens, but as my eyes sweep inquiringly across the serene vault many familiar objects are wanting. Quenched is one lamp of the Burning Seven, vacant the place of the Wan Planet, and lost forever the bright constellation that madly plunged to outer darkness, sharing the doom of the fallen Star Spirits." -Seola pg.172
The Notes section of Seola has this to say about why she included the Wan Planet in her story:
Note 18...""The Wan Planet felt the shock". Astronomers inform us that a great planet once existed between Mars and Jupiter which was shattered, and that the fragments, called asteroids, are now to be seen in that portion of the solar system."
Astronomers do not hold that view now. They believe the asteroid belt is material from the solar system's formative period that failed to condense into a planet. Maybe they're right or maybe Smith is right? Who can really know? You can speculate until you're blue in the face.
What I take from all this, is that Smith had her nose in all sorts of ancient myths just as the appendix to Seola states. If you piece enough information together you're bound to get something right.

So what do ya'll think about the recent new light?
by stillin9 inyou know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

The image would have foot fungus if it was wearing sneakers. Everybody wore sandals when this statue was imagined. Sandals would have kept the feet dry and kept foot fungus at bay. Maybe the Babylonians also cleaned their bath house floors with chlorine.

Thanks for the reply Wonder Woman,... I mean talesin.
The US is still in bed with the UK. Every television station, every newspaper, every media device in the US was glued to the royal wedding. Now politically in bed I'm not sure. I feel the US and the UK have the same mindset on doing things globally. In the past the sun never set on the British empire. Now the sun never sets on the Empire State.

Relating to new light or new ideas, some common concept of the new world is mentioned by various publishers to me. Over a time span of about five years three different JWs mentioned to me their theory about a future water canopy. None of them were really big speculators but it was funny they were compelled to bring it up. Two instances were in service and one was at a book study.
In all cases I told them I believed them because it was my feeling for a number of years as well. The interesting exchange at book study was in front of the conducting elder and he gave us a funny look as if he disapproved of the speculation. Then the other brother who started the conversation returned fire at his look and said "and it was good, that's what God said in Genesis". The conversation stopped at that.
Anyway, if the the general consensus is the return of the water canopy then why doesn't the FDS publish that thought? I think they need interview all JWs and find out what speculation is running in their minds. Maybe they could publish the common theme mentioned by most of them.

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS-Thanks for mentioning that. I did not know that is how they felt now. Maybe they are basing this on the first century apostles who were acting as the governing body in that time. In the bible they didn't mention input from others. The governing body is not isolated in a vacuum so others have to influence them in some way or another. They may be the head of the organization but God speaks through the heart. Their new light is limited now because they are not listening to the heart. In time God will set matters straight. It will be interesting to see how things play out. There is a negative prophecy about the slave in the end times. This is probably to put them back on track when the time comes.

This new light was meant to attract inactive ones to the convention. After hearing the new detail about the toes I thought it was anti-climatic. Maybe the future watchtower article will have more juicy details.
The new light that comes to the watchtower should not just come from the governing body members. The anointed remnant are supposed to contribute to any new understandings. The governing body are supposed to read the letters from the anointed remnant and determine if their material is worthy of publication in a watchtower or new book. I'm note sure how the organization filters out letters coming into the branch offices. They probably get a lot of hate mail and apostate propaganda. They must have list of addresses from those that claim to be anointed outside of bethel.
A number of years ago I found out one brother was anointed. He wasn't a MS or an elder. The one thing I found out was that he continually wrote letters to the society. He didn't disclose what their reply letters were like or if they did any in the first place. This brother sure had some interesting theories to mention. He probably told the society about them in his letters. One of the ideas was about Pangaea which I thought was strange because that didn't have any bearing on biblical matters. Besides, at the time, I thought the Pangaea model was stupid. That was until recently when a new concept about it was mentioned on the web.

What! No comments from anyone?
After reading AW and Seola I finally came to the conclusion that God brought about the Deluge to reduce human life spans. The WT says our life span were mainly reduced because we are so far removed from perfection. I disagree. God went way out of his way to just kill a few million wicked people. Besides, God never tells when he plans to bring upon a judgment day. Why would God need to tell Noah that he has 120 years before he floods the planet? It makes no sense for God to give that detail so far in advance.
Also, AW and Seola opened my eyes to the concept of the serpent having limbs before the curse in Eden. Do you all remember the Questions from readers about that thought?
From Seola page 54.
“But curious admiration was checked when I discovered upon every package a uniform mark, in shape like a winged serpent. I looked at the bearers of the treasures ; upon the breast of the tunics which they wore, and upon the band which crossed their foreheads, was the same emblem. I knew the deadly meaning of the seal. It was the seraphic form in which the Tempter appeared to our mother Eve, and I fled to my own apartment in great alarm.”
From Angels and Women page 65.

Questions from Readers:
Did the serpent lose legs or feet as means of movement as a result of the divine curse recorded at Genesis 3:14?
At Genesis 3:14 we are told: “And Jehovah God proceeded to say to the serpent: ‘Because you have done this thing, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild beasts of the field. Upon your belly you will go and dust is what you will eat all the days of your life.’” This is the only place in the bible where any indication is given that the serpent did not at one time travel on its belly.
What is said here is, of course, directed principally to the invisible spirit creature who used the literal serpent as his mouthpiece. It foretells his debasement. But for the symbolic application of this judgment upon the wicked spirit creature who became Satan to have any force there must be a fulfillment of it in the literal serpent, which has come to symbolize Satan. It, therefore, is reasonable to conclude that before God cursed it the serpent possessed legs that elevated it above the ground. As he had the power to create the serpent in the first place, God had the power to transform its body so that it ceased to have legs and was able to move about on its belly.
Sadly the society made a retraction when the question was asked recently.
Watchtower June 15, 2007
Questions from Readers:
Did the serpent that spoke to Eve have legs?
The bible does not specifically state that the animal used in tempting Eve had previously had legs but lost them. While the wording of Genesis 3:14 might lead some to think so, we need not necessarily conclude that prior to this curse, serpents had legs. Why not?
(The article continues with the symbolic application.)
Did you know? The Python and Boa are of a family of snakes that have lizard talons near its reproductive organs, yes the crotch area. These talons are tied to muscles and bones which the snake has the power to move.
So the 1964 faithful and discrete slave member was right and the 2007 F&DS member was wrong. What say you?

Thanks for posting the video Wasanelderonce. I wasn't sure of the current standing of the governing body on Angels and Women. Looks like they still like it. I'm going to proudly display my AW and Smith collection on my book shelf, next to the other JW books I have.
The ugly face at the end of the video is stupid by the way.

In 1878 a book review publication called “Good Company - Sunday Afternoon: A magazine for the household” reviewed the novel Seola. The journal had their own opinion on the music that supposedly motivated Ann Smith to write Seola. They wrote:
“A FANTASY revealed to the writer while listening to the performance of an extraordinary musical composition”-such, according to the author’s own account, is “Seola.” We are ready to believe that the performance which could have inspired such a production was extraordinary. The prelude to the “Creation,” one of Strauss’s waltzes, a scrap of a symphony of Saint Saens, and Wagner’s Centennial March, all played simultaneously in a small room, might have given birth to this “fantasy.”
I would believe a reviewer closer to the publishing date of 1878 over an unknown source that came from who knows where. I don’t know if the Smith family was rich enough to own three phonograph units to play all three compositions at the same time. Mr. and Mrs. Smith traveled the world so they probably could.
Anyway, It’s not important what song it was. The author was trying to convey that music was the motivating factor to write the novel. Music invokes emotion in all humans. Smith had read loads of literature from around the world that dealt with ancient history, before she wrote the book. Since she professed to be a Christian, in her other published works, she used the biblical narrative as the core of the story.
