1975 to 2075 a family story.

a fictional, composite tale of many true elements from a city called bostronno.

a young family man from a devout jw family was swept away in the late 60s by the enthusiasm to be in paradise by 1975. it all started at a book study with some very sincere and serious bible study members.

he turned his branch of the prosperous family business over to his brothers, and searched for a place to serve the rest of the old system's time out- in comfort and where the need was great.

The Jonah comment you said made me think of past and current JW artwork. The part about it being an event that could never happen. Look at the different sea creatures the art department has chosen throughout the years. They can't seem to stick to one type of creature.

My book of bible stories (1978) = Sperm Whale (pg 70)

Lessons you can learn from the bible (2017) = Whale Shark (pg 130)

The current WT is stuck on the translated words "Big Fish" from the OT. When I saw the book with the great white I just rolled my eyes because the WT artist wasn’t even trying to make it believable. I thought since the sperm whale breathed air I thought there was a chance with a miracle. Now you introduce a real fish that breathes with gills then I say even God can’t do that. I know the account said “fish” but the ancients didn’t separate aquatic mammals from fish back then. The big fish could still be a whale. I know the story could be fantasy but please make it a tiny bit realistic. The sperm whale is a slight maybe, the whale shark keeps Jonah in one piece but he is still dead due to drowning. The great white automatically makes Jonah mincemeat and it doesn't matter if he needs to breath anymore. They should have drawn a blue whale instead. That way there might be room for Jonah in the mouth.

What if you don't partake of the memorial emblems but God's spirit has chosen you to be one of the 144,000? Do you get disqualified for not partaking or does he make an exception because of the mass confusion?

What if the spirit calls you but you don't want to go to heaven? Can you refuse like Jonah?

2005 Big Announcement (Disappointment)

i remember around 2005, there was an announcement made from the platform that in a few weeks time we would have to remain at the end of the sunday meeting for a big announcement, directly from the society.. i remember all the murmuring, people thought maybe this was going to be related to armageddon.

everyone was excited, people were speculating.

only the po in each congregation had any idea what was going on, and they were frequently pestered for information, but sworn to secrecy, which only hyped things up even more.. then the meeting came, anticipation was in the air, the announcement started, you could hear a pin drop.

These "Special" announcements by the WT throughout the years have been so disappointing. Talk about a kill-joy.

I wonder if there will be a "Special Needs" talk now that the US Government has disclosed the existence of alien visitors? Elder from the platform says, "Folks, these alien vessels seen in the media recently are demons and you should not look at them." They probably would not hold such a meeting because it would be too interesting.

My Father passed away & i'm suicidal. I want to talk to somebody

in summary, my dad passed away not to long ago, 8 months ago, on april while i was 12. i'm 13 and i've been grieving for 6 months now and im suicidal.

i'm not doing this to get attention, but to talk to someone.

my dad was a jehovah's witness and i want to talk to all of you.

What's specifically are your thoughts on your feeling of loss? Writing about it may may lessen the pain. There are many here that can offer comfort with a listening ear.

Stagnation of prophetic interpretation will be their undoing. The current operation of JW.org is not attracting new members to the fold. Many of the young ones are leaving in droves. The number of witnesses will dwindle down and they eventually will become a small sect of Christendom.

I believe they have offended God somewhere along the way. They are not fulfilling the prophecy of Joel 2:28-29. This is where God says he will pour out his spirit on every sort of flesh and cause people to prophesy, dream and have visions. A new religion is going to form in the coming decades and I will have my portion to give.

I am not a revolutionary but when I find a worthy fellowship I will share my realizations to that Collective. My distinction shall be added to their likeness. Till then, I shall wait for the Cube to come and assimilate me. Did you know? The most holy chamber of the temple is cube shaped.

WT currently have little new information to offer, unlike when F Franz was their 'oracle'. WT find themselves presenting the same, over and over again so they may as well present once and use that info for a longer time period, all while claiming 'simplification', growth and speeding up of the warning work.”

Why the move to Warwick?

i've seen a lot of posts around and about warwick and the goings on there but was curious as to people's theories on why the move to warwick?

granted there's the obvious point about all of the money from the sale of properties in brooklyn but for as massive as warwick is, the purchase of an apartment complex there, multiple sites and buildings i would be surprised if they had much left from all of the profits.

so beyond a financial incentive why move?

Maybe the leadership in the Org privately made the assumption that the disgusting thing mentioned in Matthew were the Arabs that executed the 9/11 attack. The Arabs were standing where they were ought not-Way too close to Bethel. So those in Brooklyn-Judea gradually fled to the Upstate Mountains.

They contradict themselves with this reasoning. The Society still observes old Law covenant rituals by gathering together three times a year at major assemblies.

The following is from JW.org

"JEHOVAH instructed all Israelite males to gather at Jerusalem three times a year. (Ex. 23:14-17; Lev. 23:34-36) Jesus’ adoptive father, Joseph, took his whole family to Jerusalem on such occasions. Other Israelite men likely did the same. God’s people today likewise gather three times each year for assemblies and conventions."

I don't remember reading any command from Paul saying we must assemble three times a year per the old Law covenant. With that in mind Christianity seems to be based off all of Paul's opinions for that matter.

The organizer of the event talked to the Mayer and Supervisor of Warwick Friday about the issues going on with the Society regarding child molestation scandals. He talks about this in front of a Pub in Warwick before picking up some people involved with the program. He looks to be setting up for the weekend event which is ending today. It will be interesting to hear what comes of all this.
