I've just passed this on to my circle of friends who are still in but seriously doubt the multitude of doctrine. We're in it for family and friends. They got back to me real quick and were so exited. They couldn't believe this day had come. We've all been watching Leah's show on Scientology.

If You Question The Governing Body, You're Like Korah
by pale.emperor inanyone who questions the governing bodys authority is labelled as an apostate and almost always they bring up the story of korah and his revolt against moses.. watchtower august 1st, 2002, the article loyally submit to godly authority paragraphs 8-15.. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2002563.
in not so subtle hint, the gb likens themselves to moses, and those who disagree with the gb are korah.. paragraph 15 is actually quite damaging to the gb's argument though:.
it was so unnecessary for all those people to lose their lives.

The sons of Korah were proven wrong when the earth opened up and swallowed them. Coincidence or divine judgment?
The present day apostates were proven wrong when a fire appeared above the heads of the GB. Since that is not happening then the Helper is not with them.

If they really had the true "Deep things of God" people would be flocking to this organization. It would take another Jesus-like person to unify the whole of Christendom to which there are 1000's of denominations now. I guess that would be the 2nd coming. If Jesus did come back in the flesh all of these church leaders would try to disfellowship, shun or kill him to keep the control over their flock.
Has anyone, who still believes in one way or another, had scriptures pop out at them that proves the governing body wrong on certain subjects? It seems they prefer to follow the Law of the OT and ignore what Jesus taught.

GB Samuel Herd on "Angels and Women"
by freetosee ini find it interesting that samuel herd (as co) promoted the book angels and women in his talk "fear of giants".
he called it a fascinating book, once you pick it up you cant put it down without reading it from cover to cover!
he also mentions that russell wrote the foreword of the book and that it can be found in the gilead library.. .

Thanks for providing that link to Herd's talk Jaydee. I find it strange that he remembered the title wrong and called it "Women and Angels". He sounded quite fascinated with the story and knew a great deal about the societies involvement with it. I think he said the title wrong deliberately. He knew people would try to do search for it on the internet. They would come up empty handed with the search engine if they listed it in that order back then. He's probably thinking, "If you want to read it you have to sign up for Bethel service to get your hands on it."

JWs MUST Accept The Watchtower Teachings EVEN When They Are Wrong!
by minimus inisn't it unbelievable that a jehovah's witness must accept whatever the organization says or they can be disfellowshipped??
unless they tell you that their understanding has changed, you cannot believe anything unless they say it's ok. .
many years ago i questioned them about their ridiculous view that whenever the word "heart" was mentioned, it was a literal blood filled organ.

"Who has the authority to determine whether or not any WT teaching is wrong?"
If it was in ancient times that would be a prophet. Maybe a few here are prophets sent by God. The GB should be watching this website if they want to be directed by Jehovah.

The witnesses worship the organization like a god. They protect it's image at all costs. The numerous failed prophecies are an indication that they do not have God's backing. Isn't there a scripture in the bible that says God even sends angels to fool certain people? Witnesses can be real nasty when the're protecting the image of the .org.
The previous comment about the Slave saying something is a different color than it really is, is a real warning sign. It's like Lemmings jumping over a cliff. God holds everyone accountable for their actions. God even wanted to kill everyone who followed Aaron in building the golden calf at Mt. Sinai but Moses changed his mind.
I'm still in it for family but I keep quiet about my true feelings. I roll my eyes every time they give glory to the faithful slave. They seem to say that more and more these days. I don't remember it being said as much when I was a kid.
With the state that the .org is now, they won't be presenting any ground breaking "new lite" in the near future about the great tribulation and beyond. If there's any new information to be revealed it will come from the "World" outside.

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain
by Listener inthe watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.
w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.
they are no longer certain on this point.

I saw a documentary on the Science channel that researched the physics of the Roman torture device. They performed all these experiments with different patterns that would hold the victim used a dummy with pressure sensing devices. A computer would monitor all the sensors and they would figure out sudden death or prolonged pain on each device. They tried a steak (I), and two types of crosses (+) and (X). The one that seemed to fit the biblical account was the (X) wood cross-beam pattern.
It appears that Game of Thrones creators figured out the real the torture device used by the Romans That X symbol represents House Bolton in the HBO TV series.

The book, Angels and Women must be pretty rare. The book was published in 1924 by the A.B. ABAC Company and authorized by Rutherford. That company was set up solely to turn out those books. The work was recommended reading in the 1924 Golden Age magazine. I don't know any witnesses that own that book, except for me. I had to search far and wide to obtain a first edition.
Angels and Women is actually a revision of the 1878 novel Seola written by Ann Eliza Smith. The story is a fantasy about the events that led up to the Deluge. The whole book reads as a diary of the character named Seola, who actually becomes a passenger on the Ark.
The problem most witnesses have with this book is that it mentions the activities of the fallen angels with respect to the main character. The main character, Seola, hated the fallen angels and even one of them became attracted to her but she refused to reciprocate his love.
I think this is the most interesting literature to come out of the organization. The story was entertaining and enjoyable to read. All the other publications are dogmatic and have questions for each paragraph that you need to know. Angels and Women did not have questions for each paragraph.
