The Ultimate Solution to the Mishandling of Abuse within the bOrg
by Wild_Thing ini feel like the world needs to wake up and realize that bethel, the home of the governing body in warwick, new york is the "vatican" of the jehovah's witness world.
their doctrines, edicts, and policies affect every jehovah's witness man, woman, and child around the world.
i don't feel like the politicians in foreign countries understand this.

If this issue somehow rattles Trump's world I bet he would rein down fire and sulfur on Warwick.

Olin Moyle
by Vincent Law inolin moyle was a attorney for the wtbts during joseph rutherford reign.
his papers from wtbts are still at princeton in the rare books section and boxed up.
what is the likely hood that that there was political entanglement and that politics did not keep wtbts at arm's length but from time to time has used the wtbts for it's purposes.

Book of Revelation
by Whynot inone of the things that really bothered me is how most of the book of revelation isn't understood by most jws.
most of the trumpets were already sounded many decades ago, is that still right?
it seems like most jws just look the other way.

How about Babylon the Great not being Christendom but a bigger middle east based outfit?
You mean the place that sounds like "Becca"? That was a good one. I think I want more from you...How far is Babylon, NY from the old Bethel buildings in Brooklyn?
I saw that zombie movie too. I think it was called "World War Z"? Don't watch the trailer! It's too graphic.

It appears there are no more giant new interpretations of scripture these last few decades. Only Russell, Rutherford, Knorr and Franz were allowed to introduce major new understandings of scripture. The constant threat against independent thinking stifles new concepts and real change. Everyone everywhere in JWdom is afraid of being stabbed in the back and labeled an apostate. The downfall of Ray Franz is proof of that. I probably know more new stuff than they do. When you're PIMO your mind is allowed to think critically and even speculate here and there.

The "Whole World" was flooded??
by stuckinarut2 inso, jehovah's witnesses and many other biblical literalists think that the "whole world" was flooded during noahs day.. they take the "accounts" in genesis literally.
so that means that areas as far away as australia, russia, argentina, greenland, antarctica were all visited by noah and his family to gather animals and preach before it happened right??
they then took everything back to the middle east to board the ark...uh huh.... yet, the same expression in the bible for the "whole world" is also used in the account about the "worldwide famine" in josephs day!

If you don’t like Moses’ explanation of past world events then look to Plato for another view point.
From one myth to another. Plato’s Critias mentions the Atlantis fable.
“Many great deluges have taken place during the nine thousand years, for that is the number of years which have elapsed since the time of which I am speaking; and during all this time and through so many changes, there has never been any considerable accumulation of soil coming down from the mountains, as in other places, but the earth has fallen away all round and sunk out of sight. The consequence is, that in comparison of what then was, there are remaining only the bones of the wasted body, as they may be called, as in the case of small islands, all the richer and softer parts of the soil having fallen away, and the mere skeleton of the land being left.”
http://sacred-texts.com/cla/plato/critias.htm
Plato is not mentioning the sinking of Atlantis in this portion of the story. Earlier in the story he is describing a local myth where there is a gradual loss of land over a great period of time. He might be describing the slow flooding of the Mediterranean after the land mass between Spain and Morocco broke loose. At some point in ancient history the Atlantic Ocean drained into the Mediterranean. Geologists agree that the flooding of the Mediterranean happened but there is doubt that it happened during man’s existence.
You never know, some myths could have some sort of truth in them.

Time to remind JWs of this famous quote from CT Russell!
by stuckinarut2 inwith the ever present issue of the society seeming to run out of money, and constantly asking the flock for more donations, maybe it is time to revive this quote!.
the leaked financial dept videos that have done the rounds, clearly show the society is in desperate trouble financially.. so, where is the "almighty's hand"?
where is his ability to provide funds?

Venus. In my experience most JW's who leave become atheists. Those that left were either stumbled or hurt by some sort of leadership counsel or discipline. Your statement is true and wise. Thanks for sharing.
When religious leaders exploit the ignorant in the name of God (when God is commercially used by the religion) atheists appear denying the very basis the exploiters stand on. Thus exploiters are the cause, and atheism is the consequence—again an interesting situation that indirectly honors God who put in place the omnipresent Law of Cause and Effect

"And they kept doing bad in the eye's of Jehovah...they would also not tear down the high places...I kept sending prophets to correct them but they would not listen.,,I shall use the surrounding nations to punish them." - a gamut of scriptures from who knows where.
The high places could be likened to the image of the Organization. They worship it more than God. The image of the organization is more important than protecting children. God does not need anyone to protect his image. You do the right thing and then he will be with you. When Israelite leaders rebelled against God he would no longer give them guiding counsel. The word of Jah would no longer be in the land. That sounds exactly like today. No new insights of what is to come. This board of past members are like the prophets and countries like Russia are the surrounding nations.

Why Do People Oppose Jehovah's Witnesses?
by BlackSpirit injesus christ, the son of the most high god, jehovah has this to say: "if the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
if you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own.
now because you are no part of the world, but i have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

A former congregation of mine had to merge with its sister congregation at the kingdom hall because there were too few members in each. Now they have too many elders in the one. A bunch of them had to lose their special titles.
