My father in law told me some time ago that at a big RBC meeting they were told if a KH is paid for and there is another in the circuit or district that is in need of repairs take out a loan (with the WT of course) and donate the funds to the hall in need. This way a KH with publishers with a lower income doesn't have to take out a huge loan if one is still needed to meet the cost. He made it seem like this is so wonderful and caring but I thought why doesn't the WT help them out instead of others taking on a debt.

by Dagney ini was wondering from any here in the know, does it seem like there is a lot of "remodels" going on?.
in the last week i had the occasion to talk with two jw's in different halls, about 10 miles apart.
they both are undergoing major remodels.

given the changes in ideas, formulation of new light and so on, do they buy the fascade they are presenting ?
if theres anyone in there, surely they as men, know how very man made it has always been.

I don't know why it's a secret. Every Annual Meeting I was at they would say a vote was taken beforehand as to who would serve in what capacity on the various corporations. Many people in the audience were supposedly those with voting rights and not all were from the US Branch.

I think the most sincere of the bunch is Guy Pierce & Steve Lett. If I had to pick one to as having a conflict within & leaving, I pick Lett. I say this based on my memory of them at Bethel and the way they interact with people when at assemblies.
Bella 15 made a good point there are and always have been shareholders.
Those running the various corporations and the lawyers are a bunch of sharks. It's always been a sham but IMO I think things really changed when they removed the GB from the corporations in 2000. -

Watchtower and Communist propaganda

think about the "years' text" on kingdom halls'walls or catchwords on circuit assemblies.
on communist party assemblies there were a same-type text like "long live the socialism" etc.

My 8 year old gets it

the other night we watched an episode "return of the archons".
whenever someone spoke differently or questioned, it was recognized that they were not one of them or "of the body".

I was a teenager with low self esteem due to a dysfunctional upbringing and abuse when I started studying. I could never understand why the longer I was a JW the more depressed I became and still had no self worth. I would point the finger to my past then after some thorough examination I realized my childhood wasn't as big a factor as it was when I became a JW. Nevr feeling good enough for Jehovah or as a JW became the bigger issue.

I wish I had paid more attn to things she said as early as 2. Instead her dad & I spent the last 5 years trying to reign in the independent spirit she was born with. For example when she was almost 3 she proudly announced at the dinner table "I'm a goat. I want to be a doctor not a pioneer so I'm a goat and I will die at armageddon because I want to be a doctor." We responded by telling her "the most important thing and what will make her happy is to serve Jehovah and do his will in this system" I'm so glad I woke up before I did any further damage. -

I haven't heard any news for an international convention. I think the next one isn't until 2013 or 2014 From what I remember applications are usually in the fall. People find out late winter - spring time & as was said all correspondence is thru paperwork.
