Could you eat breakfast after watching this at Bethel?

this is a partial video of the morning breakfast table in brooklyn bethel in the late 80s, with lyman swingle hosting... the governing body member who at first tried to shelter ray franz from disfellowshipping, but then within a year or two his spirit was broken and he was a bitter man.. randy (i was there and it was death-dealing, like the death eaters from harry potter!).

The first time I met Swingle I asked how he was doing his answer "How do you think I'm doing? I'm still alive"

When I was there Swingle would end early so we got extra time to eat. The waiters had to scramble since they never how soon he would end.

Losch morning woship was torture. He'd ask a question then give 3 possible answers. 8 times out 10 he'd say well none of these can be the answer and break down the incoorect ones then explain the correct one. BLAH BLAH BLAH Losch always went over, so we were shoving food in our mouths as fast as we could. My first Losch morning worship I threw up my breakfast on the way to work. I had eaten too fast.

I liked Couch & his homo rants. I always looked forward to Sydlik putting his foot in his mouth with some stereotypical comment.

ConcernedJW you mean to tell me JW's don't have ritualistic practices.

Field service reports, studying publications, mentioning the org. or faithful slave in prayer. The mad dash before the Co, knowing there will be a release at the convention, the memorial is creepy & devoid of feeling. Can you preach door to door using the Bible alone?

Today I went to visit my old business territory. I told them I was no longer a JW & why. One of the customers said they sound like a cult. She was 22 years old, the first time she'd heard any details about Jw's and she could plainly see they are a cult.

I went to speak to my baptist neighbor asked her to pray with me. She said "they are a cult dear, that's why you couldn't sense Holy Spirit there."

Twice today others could plainly see what we were to blind to.

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses

hi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.

but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.

i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

A cult can be a recognized & established religion by the law. That is what makes Jehovah's Witnesses & Mormons more dangerous. They use the established religion cloak to dispense their propaganda.

Peneolpe... The Bible warns of the AntiChrist the Religion of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society is just that.

Yes Jesus is on paper in the religion but he is not followed. The constant use of the term Jehovah & his organization pushes out the Christ.

Does Prov 4:18 really justify an organization replacing doctrines and failed prophecies with new doctrines and prophecies, or does it simply contrast the benefit to the "righteous" of obeying a wise father (Prov 4:10-19)? False teachings can be called "false words" and Prov 13:5 says, "A false word is what the righteous hates..." When the WTS changes a teaching to something that is totally different, is it like a light that is getting brighter and brighter or more like having one false light (word) completely turned off and a totally different light turned on? Do you think the WTS would be critical of any other organization that changed its teachings as many times on as many different issues over the last 100 years as the WTS has?

I didn't take the phone call from the elders. So my husband asked if I would sign & date the letter. I had forgotten to do that.

I want out of this religion but out of spite part of me doesn't want to sign it so they have to scramble & figure out how else to get rid of me.

If you believe in God and trust the Bible is from him, then be assured they are WRONG!!!! The Bible condemns them

(1 John 4:16,18-19) 16 God is love...18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love throws fear outside, because fear exercises a restraint. Indeed, he that is under fear has not been made perfect in love. 19 As for us, we love, because he first loved us.

These words were always ringing in my ears. That is a religion based on fear. They say they have the good kind but that's crap. They're constantly being afraid of the end, afraid of what's in the world, afraid not to turn in their time, etc... That is not the life of a Christian. Jesus was refreshing. He was simple, kind, and full of love for all. The only time he lost his cool was when dealing with the religious leaders. They disgusted him as the Watchtower would disgust him today. The way the religion is run goes in complete contrast to the nature of the Christ.

If you no longer believe in God or doubt his existence then they can't be right. No matter which eyes you look thru those of faith or those of logic or skepticism they are WRONG!!!
