It's official, the internet IS the Watchtower's nemesis!
by cedars ini have been inspired recently by some of the comments on this forum regarding the society having reached a "tipping point".
it's been observed that, despite the overwhelming weight of evidence that the society is nothing more than a damaging cult, the number of witnesses continues to increase, albeit gradually.
the latest figures i have available are those in the 2011 yearbook, showing a global 2.5% increase between 2009 and 2010.. as we all know, the internet is steadily rising in accessibility (or "penetration") around the world, and it provides a wonderful resource for those who are curious about joining the faith, helping such ones to quickly identify precisely how warped the teachings of the watch tower society really are.

@Cedars The comparison was brought together by saying that opposers of God at Babel were uniting in defiance of God so an act of defiance against the organization is the same as an act of defiance to God. It was said it's interesting how the world can now communicate with each other and unite for a common cause. Jehovah seperated the languages because" . . .there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them. . ."(Genesis 11:6) JW's feel everything revolves around them in the Bible & in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if they used this as some sort of new light.

I've heard it said among JW's that the internet is like people returning to Babel. Everyone can now communicate thanks to the WWWeb. Satan is helping people to unite against his organization. So the internet and the use of it by apostates is part of Satan's scheme to attack Jehovah's people.

My husband & other bethelites viewed him as the Factory God. He was a big deal among some bethelites yet never got recognition outside of bethelite because he was not of the anointed or a governing body member.
The story of his birth was a source of much irritation to me. I hated having to hear about how his mother finished repairing a roof after he was born when I spoke of how tired I was after giving birth. w89 9/1 23-30 -

by skeeter1 inthe united nations charter is for all un countries to follow, to its best ability.. the united nations is for the right to change one's religion, without coercion.
it applies to both countries who thwart changing religions directly, but also holds governments responsible if it allow private actors to coerce people from changing one's religion.
coercion is thought of broadly, and goes beyond mere physical force.

They are fighting tooth & nail for religious freedom when they themselves strip their followers of that right. The OSCE needs to be made aware of this. The federal prosecutor in Brazil has said they are in violation of the Brazilian constitution. They continue to say they are not a cult when they meet the criteria for one. Petitions, letters need to flood the OCSE with our stories. Cult experts need to weigh in also. How does the WBT$ keep getting away with not being classed a cult and getting so many cases in their favor? $$$$ does so much more for them than their trust in God.

WBT$ is getting served. If more of these fires pop up they will have to keep spending money to put them out. Even if the courts side with them they need to recover monetarily. In the mean time more people will become aware of WBT$ and not want to listen to a JW. WBT$ will have to keep putting the squeeze on the publishers for $$$$ and they will have to continue risking funds in the market. I foresee one less publication being distributed monthly to help cut costs or one less assembly or shorter conventions. This is brilliant.

Sky News emailed about UK charitable status
by cedars infollowing the recent breakthrough i have just sent the following email to sky news, expanding on the issue of the "mentally diseased" article to incorporate the issue of uk charitable status.
i feel this is a good angle to go at, because sky news tends to focus on uk economic policy issues quite extensively.
5 million per year in government gift aid being frittered away on a charity that condones breaking-up families and blocking medical treatment seems to me to be a newsworthy item.. here is the email.

Local Needs: Low Hours
by breakfast of champions inthe local needs was about low fs time in the cong.
about 1/3 of publishers are averaging 4 hours per month.
that is unprecedented in our cong, a usually 'zealous' congregation.. my take is this: if you don't believe it yourself, why are you going to waste valuable time telling others?

there are all kinds of mental institutions around the world.

The WBT$ used that scripture to insinuate something other than fighting over words. They used it to create fear & instill hatred. They are using the Bible in a way similar to those behind the inqusition or witchhunts.
What's ironic about that scripture is that how other religions view JW's always ready to go toe to toe with someone over the cross, trinity, or christmas
