The film from 1954 about the borg is 10 times more painful than this video to watch.

@WallsofJericho Even though they don't listen to the 1000's of dr's who speak positively about blood transfusions JW's do say "this dr. says blood transfusions are dangerous so there you have it! We've been right all along!"
Case in point Dr Areyah Shandler who is in this video. He was featured in their No Blood video and he's been in many press releases about JW's and blood alternatives. They say it's only because of what is in the Bible but information like this documentary the drool over because it does validate their stand. They say see we told you so.
Here are some comments by JW apologists on YouTube regarding this trailer" It's interesting how medical opinion regarding blood has changed and is still changing with each passing year. Going from being a "miracle cure" that was always "life-saving" to now a treatment that should only? be used as "a last resort", soon it will never be used and regarded by the medical community as one of it's biggest blunders of the last 70years. Jehovah's wisdom proven right yet again. Abstain from blood. Trust Jehovah not man"Another said "This is wonderful. I first seen this on the 'Non-Blood Medical Management' facebook page. It's so sad that many people have been brainwashed to think blood transfusions are good for them. Untold numbers must of? unnecessarily died because of this dangerous, untested practice. The truth is here."

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

Congratulations!!!
What led me to reading Crisis was after an in depth personal Bible reading of the Christian scriptures. I used the reference NWT, the Kingdom Interlinear, as well as other Bible translations and I began to see things were not adding up. When I looked at the refernces from the reference Bible and the Kingdom interlinear I began to see they didn't always use the oldest manuscripts they tended to favor newer ones that would help support their line of thinking. Also from the Kingdom Interlinear you can see where the NWT does not match up with the original Greek. I thought about all the times Christians in field service said that the JW Bible has been changed and here I was seeing they were right. The teachngs about the anointed & the faithful & discreet slave being an exclusive group is not what is supported by the Bible.
This led me to wonder if this is why apostates leave and I googled Ray Franz and found a copy of Crisis of Conscience. That book changed my life. As I read I remember the saying mentioned often at conventions & assemblies " the ring of truth". As I read Crisis the bells were ringing. I was at Bethel and I was able to relate to much of what he said. I remember how ill some of the older Bethelites and JW's I knew spoke of Ray Franz when his name came up and all the rumors about him leading a great apostasy. Yet while you are reading Crisis you don't see the same ill will. Ray simply reported what happened and didn't get into trash talking them.
Take it slow! I ended up having a mental breakdown from the lack of sleep due to the stress of learning not all was as it appeared or as I had been told. There are many pdf's available of older publications available online. -

"You should never look for/expect happiness in this world"
by ilikecheese inmy jw boyfriend says this all the time whenever i'm venting about life and some of its disappointments, career aspirations and how hard they are to make happen sometimes, problems with friends/family, or just random stuff that gets to me.
i'm not a negative person or anything; i only get moody occasionally.
i am a woman; it's kind of required.

This is the type of thinking that is continually programmed into a JW.

12 If we are to maintain our sense of
urgency, we need to fight the urge to enjoy more
of what life offers. We ought to
work at getting “a firm hold on the real
life.” (1 Tim. 6:18, 19) You likely have
no doubt that everlasting life on earth
under God’s Kingdom will provide endless
opportunities to enjoy interesting
activities. But for now, the opportunity
to help others to survive Armageddon is
unique to our time. -

@ LostGeneration & Diamonddiiz I thought the same thing when Dr Areyah Shandler called it an organ. This Dr Shandler is featured in the JW videos regarding blood and press puff pieces regarding bloodless surgery.
The film is the result of another project called Beijing Goes Bloodless. www.asiageographic.com/productions_pnn.html
The new documentary Primum Non Nocere is set to be released this spring http://www.asiageographic.com/productions_pnn.html
I find it interesting the trailer is being circulated just before their serve-us meeting regarding No Blood. And that these projects are from an Asian production Co.,I say that because a few years back a JW from my old cong was attending the WT language instructors course he said they were told that the WT is focusing on the Chinese and are trying to direct more efforts towards reaching the Chinese especially the immigrants. He said they figured if more Chinese became JW's while abroad it will help gain more ground into China. This was second hand info but seeing this and noticing more Asians in the Learn From God's Word section of the public WT it seems more obvious. -

JW Children in Meetings
by blue_summmer20 inhi my first post.. for the people that grew up in the religon, do you have any memory of being spanked for not sitting still in the meeting?
i see kids acting like kids but the parents take them out and spank them for something like not sitting still.
some of my worst memories are my father taking me out for a beating with a belt or his hand.
-

When my husband was a kid the elders made an announcement about not spanking the kids in front of the KH outside since the KH was in plain sight of a major road (US Route 1). They said if the children had to be disciplined at the KH to do it out of plain sight.

Have shunning rules changed?
by tank injust wondering if there has been any changes lately?
my father is over 90 years old and lives with my sister, i hope she would call if he got very sick or died.
would i even get invited to the funeral?.
-

The April 2012 article is probably just to to reinforce the guilt trip from the July 2011 article about JW's taking advantage of the necessary business loophole.

In the July 15, 2011 WT it mentioned contact for necessary family business but that's not even brought up in the April 15, 2012 so it does seem to be a change.
