The Beast-Tower #1: Questions from Beastly Readers: Should Christians Drink Water?
by sd-7 inshould christians drink water?.
how refreshing it can be to satisfy oneself with a cold beverage on a warm day!
many christians choose to do this after a long day of zealous kingdom preaching.

Armageddon Part II
by LostGeneration inone of the things that bothered me as a jw growing up was the idea that there would be a second armageddon.
they don't phrase it that way, but what else could it be when you read stuff like this from the 3/15 wt.. "obedient humans will gradually be set free from enslavement to corruption.
if they remain faithful to jehovah throughout the millennium and during the final test that will come at the end of it, their names will be permanently written in the scroll of life.

@ LostGeneration,
Holy shit! This is huge news for me. I can't believe I missed on this.
Wonder what'll happen next. Weekday meeting eliminated like the book study?

Starting to read Crisis of Conscience....
by confuzzled777 inafter almost 2 years of being wrongfully disfellowshipped and over a year after finding this site....i am starting to read crisis of conscience.
i will not lie....i am a bit nervous as to what information i will find in the book.
i have a strong feeling that i will end up crying through most of it as i will start to see the truth about the "truth".

SURVEY: How many who are still "IN" are really out mentally (Do I need to put " S E X " in the Title to increase the number of hits on it?)
by DesirousOfChange inthere was quite a debate on another post about the increase/decrease throughout the wt history surrounding 1975 and subsequent time periods when ther have been major adjustments in doctrine.
it was said that the stasticis from 1965-1985 do not reflect a massive defection, despite the failure of the wt's prophecy for the end of the wicked system of things by 1975. .
i see the overlapping generation as another potention issue to cause fallout.

I'm mentally out. Physically in for family (still live with parents).

Freshly dead JWs were NOT living "in the time of the end"!
by Nathan Natas ini picked this thought up elsewhere, and it's been worming its way through my brain.... a friend of a friend was notified not long ago that one of his jw peers since childhood had died.
in itself, this is not too remarkable, because these guys are now into thier 60s, and mortality certainly does begin to raise its ugly head at about that time in one's life: either your friends die and leave you, or you die and leave them.. but the question came up, "can we say that roger, personally, was living "in the time of the end" if the end didn't come while he was alive?".
it seems obvious that poor dead roger was not living in the time of the end.. the question that flows from this is, "am _i_, personally, living in the "time of the end"?.

What was he? JW theology explicitly teaches that the heavenly hope was the only hope for Christians from Pentecost clear up until the "Time of the end." In his latest visit to my congregation, the CO explained in one of his talks that the "Great Crowd" consists of those who make it through Armageddon. Quite similar to what Nathan Natas says in his post.

Several ways you can leave the WT money when you die - No subtlety here folks
by agonus inin the latest kool-aid edition (november 15th), there's an insert on page 22 entitled "ways in which some choose to give".
in this short (less than 2 page) article, the word "death" appears no less than 3, count 'em, 3 times.
"payable on death", "transfer on death", and "bequest at death" are all mentioned.. .

Smart phones and WT library-a means to the WT$ end?
by darth frosty inwas talking to my sister today die-hard pioneer (god bless her) she was telling me she finally going to get herself a smart phone.. the reason?
another sister had one and had the wt library on her smart phone.
she was thrilled with the prospect of being able to look up anything just with your phone.. i started thinking, with my devious apostate mind, this could be used against them!

Yeah, WT Library Mobile has been around for two years. The thing is you need to have Windows Mobile to use it. It makes sense, though. Windows Mobile (the one before Windows Phone 7) does not have a centralized way of distributing applications like Android or iOS do, this it makes it easier for the Watchtower to not attract too much attention. They certainly don't want their software in say, the App Store, where millions of people could have easy access to their whole library of crazy publications.
