dirty trick at the meeting re facebook
by Aussie Oz inmy daughter told me about last weeks service meeting part on facebook.... the brother doing the parts asked for a show of hands who had a facebook account.. apparently a number of elders did.. (she did not put up her hand...in fact recently deleted all jws off her friends because she doesnt want them to know anything about her life).
i thought that was a dirty trick to pull.. oz.

How many of us have Higher Learning, and still mop floors
by Quarterback insomeone who works at a college locally, pointed out to me that one of their scholar students was stocking shelves at a dollar store.. with this recession, are you finding that higher learning is wasting time?

i know that it's necessary to become a dr. or a lawyer, but, with the shortage of work, even teachers are working as secretarys.. what do you think?.

For a minimum wage job any degree is no help. But, if I am an employer and have a technical job or a job that requires some skills...and I have a kid with a HS degree and another with a college degree and all things being equal, I will hire the college degree. So, even if you are stock shelves, so what? That is a temp job until you can get a job in your field. I have seen so many young people give up or think they shouldn't have to pay their dues in to get good jobs. A degree is only 1/2 the equation. You need work experience. There are ways to get that in smaller jobs, volunteering, or unpaid internships. Don't give up if it is something you like! You can never get a high-paying job with a high school degree unless you learn some unique skill or start your own business. But, most don't.

when my brother said this to me the other day, i tried my hardest to try to explain why the watchtower's polices on sexaul abuse and molestation in the past, and he said that it was the parents fault (not the watchtowers fault) that these children got molested, and that its the parents job to protect the children.
i tried to tell his thick headed, simple minded self that back in the day parents were threated with disfellowshippment and dissassociation if they reported this to the police.

Wonder how that could have helped when my wife's mother, a single mother of 3 had two of her girls molested by a man in the congregation and the elders "handled it". Back then, you were NEVER to go to the authorities because you had a fear in you to present a "bad witness" and bring disgrace on Jehovah when the disgrace were on MEN to begin with that would allow pervs to operate in the congregation!!!!

Recently, a long time bethel member visiting was told of somethings I said regarding Ray Franz. It was interesting that nothing they said refuted what was said but rather they perferred to call him and his wfie arrogant people. So, instead of reason or logic, they reverted to name calling. From what I have heard, a fair number of the higher-ups at bethel have been considered very arrogant people. Rutherford, Knorr, and others have ruled with an iron fist and had no personality from what I have read. Does anyone know Franz personally? I find it hard to believe by the way his books were written?

i was called to meet with two elders in the hall because i had filed to run for political office.
i knew that sooner or later i would have to agree to do so.

I like the WT article that said it was ok to vote or vote your conscience in lands where it was required. So, for some it is "ok" but not for others? I found that hypocritcal myself. I voted today in the primary...sure hope Mr. Paul wins!!!!

I think horses and ox's pulled ploughs but I guess an ox is a sort of cow! However, your dream of the plough means there will be 7 years of plenty, 7 years of hard work, 7 years of harvest. The man on the plough is the great shepard. You are the oxen pulling the plough and the great shepard was beating you to pull harder which means your life will be miserable even though there will be plenty. At the end of the seven years, you will die and be replaced by another publisher...because they have SOOOOO many to spare!!!!
