Hi Ray,
Yes, Holly Cole is terrific! I just bought an old Ellah Fitzgerald cd yesterday but I'll think about Holly Coles's new one for my next purchase!
ever heard of her?
anyways, she may not be top 40, but she's a well respected and well known jazz singer.. originally from halifax, nova scotia.
she moved to toronto, probably about the same time i did, thankfully she was not a jw, and she persued her musical career in canada's largest city.. http://www.hollycole.com.

thought america and norway tied for best-head and shoulders above the rest; then england, belgium, canada and the arab woman who sang in her native tongue also rocked
Sheila M--only one judge said a negative thing about Kelly and it was my Canadian judge..I was embarassed about that...actually some of the posters here said worse, so it wasn't too bad...LOL
He said something like her style doesn't cut the fringe of the greats. Considering how well she sang, it seemed ridiculous and that's why Simon C. tore a strip off him.
Let me tell ya, the Polish judge who was hilarious came up with the cruelest lines of the evening.

I can't believe I totally went blank on the guy from South Africa...he definitely was excellent....in fact he comes in right after Kelly and the Norway guy.
I would say I was disappointed with the quality of the evening...it was quite boring actually. It's amazing that this is the best in the world?! Glorified karoke, no! LOL

Well, thank u Hawk..have a great holiday season!
dear bill
recently, we had our two-day circuit assembly.
some points for you to note.
Nosferatu, thanks for sharing this...what bulloney! Wait until they see the W Network (across Canada)'s Family Secrets season two (our episode: When Nobody's Looking) early next year on my family's story. So tastefully done by a professional documentary maker woman, Maureen Judge in Toronto, who has won genie awards for her work. There is not one sensational moment in the half hour.
She gave us a copy and my family can not believe how good it is. We are SO WARY of the press in my family, having been burned big time in the past (that story will be in my follow up memoir).
The Witnesses so did NOTHING for me and my siblings from '73-76. From all the supposedly Inquirer like stories since, nothing much has changed.
I do think the press can twist stories to the slant that they want; that's why my siblings and I have learned to control everything that includes our name. When someone misrepresents you, it can feel abusive all over again.
We victims have to remember that the press is not always concerned with the truth as much as a good story.
according to times magazine...the american soldier was selected as the person of the year...i'm one of them.
When I saw that last night on CNN, I went, thank god. Congrats.

sharing his story..
"if one victim, past or present, because of seeing the walkway gains the strength to call the sexual assault survivors?
Thank you outnfree and panda...I will pass on your comments.
My siblings all agree that if we didn't have our wonderful mother, we wouldn't be alive today! Our heart goes out to all those victims and survivors who didn't have at least one person who believed in them. There are too many and so many of them don't have a voice.
Those of us who have the strength tell our stories for them.
